Baker arrested.......

First Mixon, now this. Not looking good for the program. Wonder what plan B at QB will be next season if this doesn't blow over.

An OU QB going to Fayetteville, AR is just plain stupid to start with. Then he adds stupid to stupid. Then he adds more stupid.

And all are choices, not "mistakes".

He'll get dragged through the mud of his own making on this, dragging the program right along with him.

No sympathy from me.

Its the word " Felony " that may just cost him more than any of us know. Although this isnt anywhere near the Mixon case its still a felony to flee.

Stoops cant afford to allow more scrutinization of the program from the media so dont be surprised if Baker misses 2-3 games over this to start the season. I imagine the entire coaching staff right now is thinking "WTF"Baker"

Several times. Public politeness apology production needs to commence immediately for Any chance @ capturing another Heisman for qbOU
I think he just killed his Heisman Chances, and those were BIG, IMO...I also believe that if 'The Dirt' on DeDe had come out BEFORE the Selection Committee named him, that he'd never have made it to NY. After 'The Mixon Incident' one would hope that OUr Players would know that the Eyes of America are upon them, and toe the line...

He must have been hammered; there's no other excuse for him being "caught & tackled from behind" by an Arkie cop...

IF this cannot be put to bed before August and/or he misses game 2 we're screwed.
Yep. The way he can scramble. He probably isn't used to drinking. I hope this is his last. My weekend is now ruined. Thanks Baker, you idiot.

Public drunkenness isn't exactly assault and battery or rape, charges which seem to be in the football news recently. Resisting arrest is a misdemeanor.

I never did find a lot to do at 2:30 in the morning. There is activity at 2:30 in Fayetteville? Not a lot of good things happen at 2:30. The library isn't open. Even the bars around here close at 12:30. Being up at 2:30 any more suggests that there is a very good movie on TCM or that I need to go to the restroom. That's about as productive as anything I can remember happening at 2:30.

Punishment becomes a moot point. Fine him? He just got a multi-million dollar fine. The Heismann just sailed away.

He may 'Beat the Rap', but he is no longer OUr Fair Haired Lad, Knight in Shining Armor, Fan Favorite, Role Model of the Decade, or The Chosen. He let down The Sooner Nation. HARD! He gave a black eye to The Team, The Coaching Staff, and The University of Oklahoma, but that is all Collateral Damage. The irreparable thing is what he did to Baker Mayfield. I'm not suggesting that what happened was the worst possible behavior. No where close! Similar incidents probably happened at campuses all across the nation, last night, tonight, and will happen, tomorrow night, but I daresay, none will have any more detrimental consequences, both tangible, and intangible...

We all as Sooners are very disappointed.

Baker as the leader of our team needs to apologize to his teammates the coaches the Sooner administration and to OU's fans and to the public nationally. .

We also need all of the honest facts involved in this incident as OU said today, before they will comment which up to now OU has not commented

Stoops needs to make a definitive statement now.....not just of how Mayfield will be punished for this specific event....but how his program will stop such behavior with a zero tolerance policy, even at the risk of undermining success on the field of play.....or somehow violating players' "rights".
My guess is that Mayfield sits out the UTEP opener and all will be forgotten....until another player decides to give OU a black eye, which now seems as probable as injuries.
No single player should be regarded as more important than the Oklahoma program, his teammates, or The University.

EXACTLY, Will you write his speech for him? I want him to really talk this time. Not the same old blah, blah. Maybe he is not getting the word out to the players about this kind of crap. He really needs to open up and be frank with his loyal fans.

I'll reserve judgment on Baker until more of the facts come out. Who knows if the prosecuting attorneys will even be interested in carrying on with this case?

I guess we will see. They don't arrest people for doing nothing. At least normally.
