Army Game Time Set

A game I’ve waited many years to see and it may be on PPV, instead of the game with The University of Basketball at Kansas.
Not happy. Maybe it will be on later in the week.
In 2010, OU played Air Force in Norman in a game in which OU was heavily favored. OU barely survived Air Force’s ground attack and won 27-24.
As Air Force did that day, I expect Army to give the same kind of effort.
The networks may not agree.

Army will be breaking in a new QB which is huge in any option based attack and especially in an early season game. Army has to keep the ball away from OU and get a steady three or four yards per play while converting a ton of fourth and short opportunities. While I'm hoping for a competitive game, I have a fairly strong suspicion that OU won't break a sweat.

I have 12 tickets to the game for an obvious family reunion opportunity with some serious travel involved for some of my children and their families. Can't wait.

My hope is that, if the Army game is shamefully moved to PPV, that ESPNU will show it the following week. I don't mind not seeing it live. I just want to see it.
Seeing OU hang 50-60 on Kansas doesn't interest me.

You likely won't be seeing it on ESPNU. The PPV games are actually Fox games since they have 1 football game per season under their Tier 3 rights package.

The triple option will give the defense trouble the 1st half. I doubt we spend more then 3 or 4 practices, getting ready for it. If Kelly, Murray and whoever plays ML, just bust through and blows up the play. Instead of trying to wait for the pitch., we will be fine. It goes against your natural instincts, to NOT wait, to see if they pitch.

Just trust your teammates, will get the guy and blow up the play. Play assignment, one guy on the QB and the other on the pitch. The safeties will need to get physical and play, 2nd level. If we can practice with the CB enough, they should learn how to get holding calls.

I was at that OU vs AF game in 2010, a bit nervous too before it ended. It was pretty cool, OU did a Salute to the Military type of thing. Jets flew over before the game and the Pilots were honored at halftime on the jumbotron, one of the Pilots unzipped his flight suit and showed his T Shirt underneath, an upside down longhorn. Of course the crowd loved that. Lol. I have a pic of it somewhere but cannot locate it.

This game in 2010 vs Air Force was OU's 800th all-time victory.
I recall Stoops having his ground game eat up the closing minutes to keep Air Force's offense off the field and to preserve the win, which had a few OU fans unhappy at not scoring more points. And this win was a week after OU destroyed a good Florida State team 47-17.

Found it. These are the pilots that flew over before the AF game. They did this at halftime when they were introduced.

Was at that game as well, there were some sad FL ST fans there that day and that was at halftime. Saw some on the drive back home, I told MJ that has to be a long drive home after a whipping like that.
