Passing this along from the higher-ups at Rivals...
This week Rivals is releasing the Rivals Web App, which will bring app-like features to all of your platforms, including desktop and mobile, regardless of operating system. The web app installs to mobile devices like a native app with a dedicated icon on your home screen that uses your site’s colors.
When launched on a phone or tablet, the experience will be very app-like with no browser tabs or menus, giving more space for the content. And, you will be able to customize your experience to deliver the news and notifications that you want. Among the features of the web app are:
The Notifications tab in your profile allows you to specify the team(s) you want to follow and configure which type of on-site alerts and on-site push notifications you want to receive in the following categories: new articles, forum activity, commits, transfer portal activity, and breaking news.
Push notifications can be enabled for each category above and will send a native notification directly to your phone or desktop the moment the event happens. The alert bell on the site will consolidate all unread alerts from the enabled categories, allowing users to quickly catch up on the things they care about.
If you haven’t already, you will be prompted to install the Rivals Web App on your first visit to the site once the feature goes live. Future versions of the app will include even more personalization options as well as user experience improvements.
