Sunday Notes...

OK guys, got two things to cover, one I think you'll like, the other...not as much.

I spoke, briefly, with Spearman, Texas 2022 Rivals100 athlete Brenen Thompson about his tweet earlier today and the chances it could mean something is happening. In case you missed the tweet...

He told me "After season (eyeballs)".

So I'm guessing nothing happening is immediate but the buzz is definitely on Oklahoma's side of things.

**On the flip side, I've been told that Tristan Leigh is expected to return to LSU again next weekend. Back to back trips to Baton Rouge seems like a daunting reality and as his fourth and fifth trips to LSU and only being able to make one to Oklahoma, seems like the odds are getting longer.

Rose Bowl why do I punish myself

Rose Bowl why am I doing this. It’s midnight here, just turned off a movie for bed, and the ****ing Rose Bowl is on SEC network when I turn the movie off. 13 seconds left 13 seconds before half timeout, lamb/baker TD coming Gonna turn it off right after. No kickoff for this guy. Gonna dream about what a success the sooner summit was instead. Thanks guys that was close

It needs to be said ...

Some of you folks really need to get a grip and alter your perceptions and priorities.

I love football. LOVE IT. And I love OU. But, it is still just a game. This isn’t life or death, but the way some of you guys act, you’d think that whether Camar signs with the good guys or not will have some determining factor on your life.

I mean, come on guys. It’s a game played by 18-22 year old kids. And with recruiting, you allow the decisions of 16-18 year old kids to impact your emotional well being. Get. A. Grip.

Sure, I want OU to sign every 5 star and win every game by 50 while stacking trophies. But that’s not how this works. The Whorns regularly out recruit OU and then do nothing with that talent. Rinse repeat.

Just have fun with the game - and remember that it is just a game.

Never Thought I’d Say This ...

It’s blasphemy, for sure, but I never thought I could actually come around to the feeling/thought that if the college football season really never gets going or gets shut down at some point, it might not be the worst thing now for our Sooners. I’m starting to get there.
From all the injuries, to rumored growing number of key opt-outs, to ridiculous suspensions and lack of depth and experience in some spots, we might be better off in terms of recruiting by putting no product on the field in 2020 rather than one that’s not up to OU expectations or standards ... also know as the Texas approach to every season and its negative effect on recruiting once they actually put the ball in play.
Am I’m wrong? I’m sure you’ll tell me, if so. : )
