TCU coach Gary Patterson says SEC schools targeting player on his roster with NIL offers

LINK

“There’s five SEC schools calling him and telling him, ‘Here’s what we’ll give you if you come here and not stay at TCU,’” Patterson said, according to the paper. “At the end of the day, that’s just real life. If we don’t do anything about it, within a year we lose him. The rules have changed. There is no wrong anymore.”

Patterson estimated that unless TCU has something in place by the end of November, there’s a chance the Horned Frogs could lose 25-30 players to the transfer portal.

“Everybody lives in the gray area. Everybody in this room lives in the gray area,” he said. “The bottom line to it is we’re going to have to live in the gray area if we want to keep up.”

Had no idea just how bad A&M's QB situation was until I saw this . . .

"Zach Calzada, a sophomore, played the rest of the game in King's place. He completed 18 of 39 passes for 183 yards, one touchdown and one interception."

18 of 39 - I'm no math major but I'm pretty sure that's less than 50% completion rate by a significant margin, and against a really crappy, but scrappy, CU defense. I really hope they lose every game left on their schedule.

It’s starting

Login to view embedded media You can bet your ****ing ass that this kid will have a full ride to OU, if not on OU or his dad’s dime, but people on staff or former players. AD’s sons are just getting started.
And yes you assholes I just got home from the bars and I’m taking a shit. This is my drunken post for the evening, don’t encourage it further

Ten Thgts...

1. Ratt played well. Didn't do too much and hit his wrs all night. He threw catchable balls. Glorified practice but you gotta take what's there and he did.

2. Super Mario brings an element to the team that was missing last year. His quickness/explosion is going to be a problem for teams. Wr core is solid but needs more dynamic players. Still not 100% sold on Hazelwood but I want him to be that "guy" so bad.

3. Say what u want but Congle is solid. I watched him early and he was stout (FCS I getit). Oline opened some holes and actually looked like they practiced inside drill...hard to judge when the other team had ZERO dudes.

4. The mix of Hall/Stog/Willis is solid. Willis has the most juice if u ask me....and he has the most potential to be dynamic. Watch him block...he was nasty on the edge a few times (FCS)

5. We took a step in the right direction. I'm sure we schemed Nebbish so it'll be interesting to see how we come out and play.

6. Dline played against the Walk-ons tonight. They feasted on a JV team

7. Backers still scare me. Bad angles, bad form and too much space in passing game. They just lack "feel" and toughness at the point of attack. David u looked solid and so did 28...sigh. 23 is still not great and 24 is often out of control (not sound). 13 was interesting 🤔

8. I'm convinced 32 is a nickel. I think that's his best spot. He played well for Bowman...I'd also bet u Bowman can play high safety and be a difference maker. 22 is NOT ready. I saw him run from contact 2 times, fly into the pile late with his head down and almost kill his own player, and not be sound in pass coverage. I like the pups and direction we are headed down the road. 15 has some dawg in him and made a play when he had the chance.

9. there's a play in the 2nd or 3rd quarter that gets stopped as the defense is picking up their "man" in coverage. It's CLEAR that safeties are picking up crossers and backers are manning up on rbs and then free to roam. Gives me a lot of clarity on who's job is what...in man coverage (obviously variations) but it helps confirm that backers can't track well and safeties aren't helping inside on crossers.

10. Solid win. Salute for the goose egg...that's an important identity deal.

Based on play today my starting 22 would be:

Qb Ratt
Rb Gray/Brooks
Wr1 Hazelwood
Wr2 Mims
Wr3 Super Mario
H-Back Willis

Rush - Bonitto
Tackle - Redmond
Nose - Winfrey
End - IT

Mike - David U
Will - Stunts 😔

Nickel - DTY/Bowman
Cb1 - Woodi
Cb2 - Davis/Hutch/Graham
Safety - Fields (didn't do anything wrong)
Safety - B Wash

Just based upon their play tonight.

Sooner Survivor Series 2021: Week 1

IT IS HERE, IT IS HERE!

Time for our annual survivor series - that is both my love and potentially the most painful part of my week.

It’s time to get started with our sixth year of the Sooner Survivor Series - the annual Big 12 Survivor Pool.

The rules are simple:

---(READ THIS ONE CAREFULLY, AGAIN) as there are only 10 Big 12 teams we always spend the end of the year filling out the regular season schedule. Well, to keep me from hating my life while filling out 500+ winners (until my upset comes in) we’re going to do it in reverse. The first four weeks will be picking ONE winner from three hand picked games around college football. You don’t need to pick the winner of each, you simply pick the winner of ONE of the three games. If you’re right, you advance, if you’re wrong, your season ends early.

---Starting in week five, you’ll pick one Big 12 team each week that you think will win that week's game. If your team wins, you advance to the next week. When a team you picked loses, you are eliminated from the competition. Remember you ARE NOT picking against the spread, these are straight up win/lose scenarios.

---Once we've started the Big 12 segment and you've picked a Big 12 school, you cannot pick them again the rest of the season. This means you have to pick carefully and assess for things like bye weeks, matchups, etc.

---There are no byes for participants. In other words, you have to pick a team every single week. You have to watch later in the season to make sure you have a team to pick every week, because if you get into a situation where every team you have left is on a bye week and can't pick a team, you'll unfortunately be eliminated.

---Also, you MUST have your picks in before the first game on the docket (it will always be the first game listed below).

--- If anyone (or multiple people) can make it all the way through 14 weeks without losing, we'll use the bowl weeks as tie-breakers.

If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to write them below!

And now, here are the options for Week One.

OT: Recommendations for a mountain vacation

My wife and I are looking for a chill place to relax and drink for a week long vacation this fall. A place that’s kinda low-key and not packed with people. Never been to a mountainous area so we’re interested in that. Anybody have some good recommendations? Thx.

Edit: You guys are awesome. Thank you for the advice, given us some great ideas. I’ll report back at a time tbd and you can congratulate me on the sex.
