Lincoln has a real problem

In addition to him team being soft and woefully unprepared for the SEC, he is starting to lose players and their parents because of poor personnel decisions and poor play. If we lose a few stats to the portal AND whiff on some major recruits because of unhappiness among the players, especially on defense, we could be in big, big trouble for multiple years. Plus, the offensive AND defensive fundamentals and game-planning have not been top quality. Aside from winning, does he need to do stop the turmoil and steady the ship?

Will OU Softball surpass OU Football in NC?

The race to #8. Who gets there first? This isn’t a slam on OU football at all. Just a realization of a machine that’s OU Softball.

A guy that works for me has a daughter who’s a huge OU softball fan asked me the above question. After thinking about it, I say by 2030, if Patty sticks around that long, she will have #8. I think it’s not a matter of if, but when. Thoughts?

Sunday Notes...(UPDATE: 8:24p)

UPDATE 8:24p: Well with the sweet, must come the sour.

As I think OU is surging in a few situations it seems they are going to come up short in their pursuit of Hero Kanu. I've just put in a forecast to Ohio State and am wondering if it might not be something that happens fairly soon, we'll see.

ORIGINAL: Alright guys, good start in some of my early calls and conversations but we'll start with the highest rated defensive player who was on campus...

*That's right I got some good early chatter on the first game visit for Allen, Texas five-star defensive lineman David Hicks.

First off Hicks came to the game and enjoyed himself.

"It was fun, I'm going back today," Hicks said.

That's right, he decided to hang around and spend some more time in Norman today and stayed until after lunch.

"(Oklahoma) has to have helped themselves," a source said.

Oklahoma is going to have a huge fight on their hands but the fact he came back and hung around seems like a great sign and I know that his father, David Hicks Sr., who is also the defensive line coach at Allen, has built a strong relationship with Calvin Thibodeaux.

**Another 2023 defensive lineman who I know impressed @Eddie_Rado when he saw him on the sidelines this weekend was Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt Trussville defensive lineman Hunter Osborne.

"He's a serious looking dude," another recruit told me.

But what is most impressive was just how much Osborne loved his trip himself.

"It was a 10 out of 10, as close to perfect as I can see it being," Osborne said.

We'll have a lot more with him soon but I've not heard a guy talk about a visit like this in a while he was clearly WOWED by what the Sooners put out there.

***Speaking of guys who impressed people physically? How about Independence (Kan.) Independence C.C. three-star defensive lineman, and last week's latest 2022 offer Jeffery M'Ba.

"It was great to watch the defensive line they were flying around," M'Ba said.

And M'Ba has admitted to being a big fan of Perrion Winfrey and he liked what he saw of the Sooners nose tackle.

"Man, I've seen a lot of good get offs but his get off the ball was very impressive," he said of Winfrey's first step off the snap. "With a get off like his you can't help but be disruptive."

****I can't go into it but I'm telling you...Oklahoma and Marvin Jones Jr is real, real, real, real.

That's it, end of segment.

*****Also, as a quick note I wanted to add that Nic Anderson will be an early enrollee for the Sooners.

So here are the list of players I've got confirmed - with a few more outliers I'm trying to work toward.

Nicholas Anderson - WR - Katy, Texas

Xavion Brice – DB – Arlington (Texas) Seguin

Gabe Dindy – DL – Lakeland, Fla.

Demetrius Hunter – OL – Orange (Texas) West Orange-Stark

Kip Lewis – LB – Carthage, Texas

Kobie McKinzie – LB – Lubbock (Texas) Cooper

Jason Llewellyn – TE – Aledo, Texas

Guys, I'll have some more but wanted to get this out and give you a bit of a taste.

'2020 QB Options

I'm working under the assumption we don't get Young and we don't pursue King.

So let's look at some 2020 QBs who will be the Mordecai of this class.

To kick it off. I like this cat.

Big kid from Cali who I expected to just be "meh". Dude drops bombs for about 5 minutes straight in his highlights. HItting WRs in stride perfectly. Can also run a bit.

I'm not as sold on this guy, but for some reason I remember someone mentioning him as a name to watch at some point.

KEY TO WIN AGAINST IOWA STATE..

I.S. will copy the playbook from Baylor. They have the defense and a similar offense with a running Q.B. etc. I'm sure they have replayed the OU vs. Baylor game several times. L.R. needs to counter. It will be like Baylor 2. TCU had put up 400 yards passing the week before. Aranda played to stop the run and leave it up to C.W. to beat them passing. He had his freshman game which had to happen sometime. I doubt C.W. will be off this week like last week and his hand will be healed. It should be a touchdown difference-OU. We need the win and momentum headed into Bedlam. Boomer Sooner.

Gabe Calling Out Lincoln on the Run Game Schemes

Saying he’s over complicating all the run game schemes and that he needs to take a look at other zone/stretch plays for the OL.

Player Stock: who are you buying?

Seeing as Tre is starting to get a lot of snaps and after Darby’s long TD, I just wanted to say I’ve been a buyer of Tre West and Darby since their HS days. Those guys might not win workout contests but they know how to produce. Darby was like carrying the entire A&M Consolidated team and go look at game by game Tre West playoff numbers, they’re jaw dropping, multiple TD’s, 200+ All Purpose, crazy numbers. Those guys are just good football players. Mark my words, in the future, these two are going to continue to make an impact. Give me all the Darby and Tre West stock.

Who are some under the radar guys y’all are most excited about? Who are the guys y’all know about that we need to keep an eye out for?
