TBOW is a coordinator, not a HC

TBOW does not have what it takes to run a championship program as a HC. OU is case and point. B Willis in the most recent Podcast on the prairie makes a specific point about why LR doesn't make a good HC. But as an OC? No denying he was incredible. LR needs someone hard-nosed above him so all he has to do is run the offense. So here's a question: what would OU look like with LR as the OC under Venables as Head coach? Personally, I think that would be an incredible program. What do y'all think?

that 2019 WR class tho... smh

I really hope Theo Wease has a breakout season this year. Count me in as one of the guys that thought there was going to be multiple 1st rounders from this class. Is Bridges locked up?

Jackson Arnold "whispers"

Heard on last night's 'Through The Keyhole' podcast that there is some possible "friction" between Jackson Arnold and OU regarding the 'commit, no visits' rule. Supposedly A&M is "kicking the tires" on Arnold to see what's going on? Asking about a visit, perhaps?

Payton goes on to say he doesn't know if anything is going on right now, but references Lebby interacting with Jaden Rashada on Twitter (a few likes from Lebby).

Man, I like Kegan but this Payton guy must be some casual playing insider on his Kegan's podcast. This particular exchange was funny sh*t:

Payton: "I believe Jaden visited Oklahoma, please correct me if I'm wrong?"

Kegan: "I don't believe he has visited, no"

Payton: "K, yeah, I don't think so either"

Payton: "There is talks that Peter Thrune, is how you say it, Tune?

Kegan: "Parker Thune?"

Payton: "Parker, Parker, yeah"

He's on an OU podcast that frequently covers recruiting and he doesn't know who Parker Thune is? That alone is about enough for me to disregard his "inside info". Kegan said there could be "something there" after checking around, but another source said they had heard nothing.

OT: No more BRECKFAST...

Since some of you are lil bitches and can't take a joke (or even understand one apparently)...

I present to you the new gifs that I will use anytime I think you post something that makes you look like a fvcking idiot... because you really should just hit yourself in the nuts instead of pressing "post thread"... again... any of these will suffice. You have been warned. I am not a moderator... but I will moderate stupidity and let you know if I think you're bringing down the board's IQ level. My opinion is worth probably less than .02... but I will share it nonetheless.

Also... if this post offends you, bothers you, gets you angry, or gets sand in your vagina, you are likely deserved of one (or more) of these gifs at some point:

Women's Gym Finals ABC/ESPN3

The Sooners start the gym finals today ay noon. They will compete against #4 Utah, #5 Alabama, and #7 Minnesota with the top 2 advancing to the finals on Saturday. OU should go in the olympic order, Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor. ESPN2 has an overall coverage, and ESPN3 will have individual apparatuses coverage. The Semifinals also will be when individual national championships are won. Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey (Oregon St, individual qualifier) is competing along side OU today. Also USA Olympic Team Silver medalist Grace McCallum is on the Utah team.

OT - Concealed Carry Holster Ideas

Finishing the process to get my concealed carry permit and in the 3 day waiting period for a Glock 19 Gen5. My main purpose is to legally be able to carry the gun with me in my daily driver as well as our RV when we travel. Not adverse to carrying it on my person, but I don't see myself doing that often. Looking for something that will keep the gun secured and protected in the vehicle while allowing easy retrieval if needed. Also a plus would be for it to be easy to carry on my person without too much trouble or discomfort. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Saban: Current state of CFB not 'sustainable."

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Nick Saban’s willingness to adapt and often be a catalyst for change in college football, both on the field and off, has propelled Alabama to six national championships in 13 seasons.

The 70-year-old coach is confident his program will continue to thrive during this new era of college athletics, with players having more opportunities to earn money than ever before and more power to determine where they play.

But the current state of college football has Saban concerned.

“I don’t think what we’re doing right now is a sustainable model,” Saban told The Associated Press in a recent interview.

That’s a common theme among coaches these days, with Clemson’s Dabo Swinney and Southern California’s Lincoln Riley among the most prominent who have echoed Saban’s sentiments. The combination of empowered athletes and easily accessible paydays is changing the way coaches go about their business.

That has led to concerns about vast sums of money flowing in and around college athletics, including brazen entities called collectives put together by well-heeled donors whose donations have traditionally funded everything from lavish facilities to multimillion-dollar buyouts of fired coaches around Power Five conferences.

“The concept of name, image and likeness was for players to be able to use their name, image and likeness to create opportunities for themselves. That’s what it was,” Saban said. “So last year on our team, our guys probably made as much or more than anybody in the country.”

Paying a player to attend a particular school is still a violation of NCAA rules, but NIL deals have quickly become intertwined with recruiting — both high school prospects and the growing number of college transfers.

Grimlock… Something you want to tell us?

So been in the skreets. Just got done with a date. Espresso Martinis have been consumed S/O @slagle747.
Talked to some people at OU and in the 817.

Jason Llewellen’s future is at Tackle. Kid’s putting on weight and muscle like crazy just in the OU S&C program. Dude’s more than willing to throw people and he was the man setting the edge in Aledo’s shotgun RPO/OZ scheme. I had an OL tell me he’s been extremely impressed with him as a blocker and the kid’s supposedly still growing. Legit Fortnite player too.
I would expect Javonte Barnes to be your starter/co starter at RB by the end of the year and that’s no knock on Eric Gray. I hope they run some split back with them two. He’s been ****ing impressive.
We have to take another QB. Evers cannot be our QB2. I think the kid from Vegas will be 2 over him. He’s got deer-in-headlights going on. The talent is there but if he’s an above average QB starter at OU in any capacity, JL has done well developing him. His throwing motion is still choppy and his footwork makes my shitty golf footwork look like a Russian ballerina performing swan lake.

as for recruiting:
OU’s playing the game now. I’ve said this before but LTO’s offer from the cult was nuts. Ours was very damn good.
Jordan Johnson-Rubell’s interest is legit W OU. I was told Oklahoma and TCU are at the top right now. He likes Valai, Hall and Brent a ton. I’ll have more on some other guys tomorrow morning

We want the full details…

Dabo Swinney: There needs to be a complete blowup of College Football.

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney said this week he thinks a lack of uniformity will lead to a complete restructuring in college athletics at some point. In particular, he sees the larger, more prominent Power 5 schools forming their own division in football.

"I think there's going to be a complete blowup ... especially in football, and there needs to be," Swinney told ESPN. "I think eventually there will be some type of break and another division. Right now, you got everybody in one group, and it's not feasible. Alabama has different problems than Middle Tennessee, but we're trying to make them all the same and it's just not. I think you'll have 40 or 50 teams and a commissioner and here are the rules."

Swinney said the current system is a "mess" and that it's hard to get anything accomplished as college athletics continue to evolve and change in the new world of the transfer portal and name, image and likeness.

"There's so much bureaucracy and you can't get anything done in a real-time manner. It's frustrating," Swinney said. "The communication is not good and the rules are outdated. Again, there have been a lot of positives when it comes to the scholarships. But you've got all these people voting on things, and it's just not apples to apples."
