Do we have quitters?

So listening to Lebby talk about Iowa State’s defense and how they are playing above their level because of their buy in to their system and their effort and it got me thinking. Do we have a bunch of quitters along the D Line?

Before K-State we were basically saying the same thing about our defense after Nebraska. Reggie Grimes was playing his best ball motivated by his grandmother and the line seemed be be doing well. So well in fact it was covering up our deficiencies at LB and safety.

Fast forward fo the mental mistakes vs KState and we lost a game we should could have won. We go into TCU and the defensive line was non existent giving Duggan all the time in the world to make easy pitch and throw catches. The same play TCU hit us on for the deep pass was the same one Kent State had open 2x but the difference being against Kent State we flushed the qb and he didn’t see it. Called it out 2x with the wife in the stands when it happened.

So my question is, what happened to the line and that motor? Did we get punched in the mouth and just quit? It’s the same #23, #28, #2 and #23 on the field behind the D Line that we pick on as the first 3 wins. The same guys from last year. So did we quit in effort? In buy-in? OL blocking in the conference can’t be that amazing can it? Im so confused where the DLine went.

Sooner Survivor Series: Week 8

And on we go with our seventh year of the Sooner Survivor Series - the annual Big 12 Survivor Pool.

The rules are simple:

---(READ THIS ONE CAREFULLY, AGAIN) as there are only 10 Big 12 teams we always spend the end of the year filling out the regular season schedule. Well, to keep me from hating my life while filling out 500+ winners (until my BELOVED upset comes in) we’re going to do it in reverse. The first four weeks will be picking ONE winner from three hand picked games around college football. You don’t need to pick the winner of each, you simply pick the winner of ONE of the three games. If you’re right, you advance, if you’re wrong, your season ends early.

---Starting in week five, you’ll pick one Big 12 team each week that you think will win that week's game. If your team wins, you advance to the next week. When a team you picked loses, you are eliminated from the competition. Remember you ARE NOT picking against the spread, these are straight up win/lose scenarios.

---Once we've started the Big 12 segment and you've picked a Big 12 school, you cannot pick them again the rest of the season. This means you have to pick carefully and assess for things like bye weeks, matchups, etc.

---There are no byes for participants. In other words, you have to pick a team every single week. You have to watch later in the season to make sure you have a team to pick every week, because if you get into a situation where every team you have left is on a bye week and can't pick a team, you'll unfortunately be eliminated.

---Also, you MUST have your picks in before the first game on the docket (it will always be the first game listed below).

--- If anyone (or multiple people) can make it all the way through 14 weeks without losing, we'll use the bowl weeks as tie-breakers.

If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to write them below!

And now, here are the options for Week Three.

OU media Monday (No Tuesday, no Gabriel)

It sounds like OU players are gonna be Mondays and that's it from now on. We were expected to get Gabriel tonight but didn't. I don't think it was anything fishy, just something came up to where DG couldn't make it.

- Brayden Willis
- Theo Wease
- DaShaun White
- Eric Gray
- Robert Spears-Jennings
- Woodi Washington
- R Mason Thomas

I spent the majority of the time with White, Gray and Washington. I had a couple of storylines for each to answer. They did. I'm pleased. I don't think anyone was with Wease, as it was Brayden, Theo and DaShaun all at once.

Homepage Photo - "Arnold Locked In"

Just noticed that the picture of JA on the Home Page with the story about him being "locked in" has Lebby and Hall standing in the background. In the pic, they can be seen looking at Lebby's phone and discussing whatever they may be looking at (and possibly chuckling if you look long/hard enough  ). Let's all use this thread as conjecture about what they might be looking at on the phone!!

My guess is Lebby just ran across the the Scoop thread about JA taking a look at and potentially visiting Domer and having a good laugh at that OP's expense!!

OT - Opening day - Bryce Harper the 330 million dollar man...

Having been a Nats fan for the past few years while living in DC, I really didn't understand all the attention (and money) Harper was getting. He's never been an exceptional hitter except for his MVP season which he may never again replicate.

He's currently 0-3 with two strikeouts and 1 BB.

Definitely, not worth the $25 million average for 13 years he's getting paid. I can name 15 maybe 20 guys easily I would take over him.
