Tulsa Union

Had a chance to see Tulsa Union last night Versus Edmond North. EN isn't good. However, I was super impressed with the Union WR Jino Boyd (think he had 4 TDs and made some great catches) and the Union QB (Shaker Reisig). I think he transferred from Jenks.
Is there any serious interest from OU on either? I think Reisig visited earlier. Not sure about Boyd.

Also, don't sleep on these guys. especially with Bixby showing they are human last night!

Thanks and apologies if this has been covered previously.

CFP poll opinions

TCU being behind Bama is what we all know an agenda move. Not that any of years past CFP polls didnt have agendas.

Texas being ranked with 3 losses , one to Tech was made to give Bama a top 25 win and nothing more. Hopefully KSU sends those Horns packing this weekend.

i think Tennessee earned the top ranking honestly but believe Michigan should be 4 not Clemson.

Just curious as CFB fans other opinions

Phil Bennett comment about Venables defense

I am about to refence some content from The Athletic so If I cross some lines here mods, my feelings will not be hurt if you delete this ---

There is an article today on The Athletic titled "Tennessee’s offense, in the eyes of those who run it and try to defend it: ‘It’s hell to stop’

I thought it was a fasinating read because of the all of the ties to our program through Heupel. They spend a lot of time talking about the system he runs and how he's adopted a lot of what Briles ran at Baylor had on what Josh is doing today. Throughout the article, Phil Bennett(who was Baylor DC at the time) provides a lot of context about his experience seeing that system.

Obviously this comment stuck out to me --

“Everything you do almost has to be an automatic package. Brent Venables tried to have a big playbook against us (as Oklahoma’s defensive coordinator). You just can’t do it. Art would say, ‘I wish we could play Brent Venables every game."

Just a lot of layers to this and I can't help but wonder what some of the conversations are like between Briles --------> Lebby --------> Venables are like.

‘25 QB - Colin Hurley

Teammate of Trayaun Webb - already has 4 offers from Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, and Middle Tennessee State
Gotta wonder what this kid will be like in a few years and if he is our prime target by then. Possible #1 QB in ‘25? Thought it was interesting

What's the situation with RB Gavin Sawchuk ?

He was highly recruited but has played only in one game vs TCU.
Is he redshirting or injured?
I don't recall an elite running back outside of Tillman or Griffin (who redshirted during the first half of the 1999 season) being redshirted their freshman year.
If Gray or Barnes are recovering from injury, it seems to me that he could see some meaningful playing time....and he has too much talent to sit out his freshman year.

The Sooner Scoop - November, 4 2022

The Sooner Scoop will always have a lot of inside information or sensitive information that doesn’t need to be discussed in public forums and on other websites. So what is said in the Sooner Scoop stays in the Sooner Scoop.

This only works if you guys make it work, and if it becomes and issue, we’ll begin to cut back on the amount of good information that is passed on in here.

The Sooner Scoop – Friday, November 2022

Attention ladies and gentleman, I have an urgent and breaking news story!

GOTCHA!

Sunday Notes...(UPDATE: 4:28p)

UPDATE: 4:31p - So I just put in a forecast...

UPDATE: 4:28p - Alright, going to let this one work itself out a bit as McKown did tell me he had a 'scholarship' and I think I may have misunderstood exactly what that meant. I have full faith in his sincerity that he has a scholarship, and it may end being for football, but until I'm certain of that, I just can't run with it. At this point, I'm far from certain but will correct course as soon as that changes.

I'm going to let it work itself out a bit as I feel like there are a few loose ends here.

However it plays out, it's my opinion that Oklahoma will continue to pursue two scholarship backs at the position.

UPDATE: 4:03p - OK, McKown just hit me up and told me that he has been offered by Oklahoma. I've got no reason not to believe him, but as ever, I'm going to verify before I'm ready to report that. Still though, would be an interesting turn from what I was originally led to believe.

ORIGINAL: Ok guys, obviously the first news out of the weekend is the commitment of Norman (Okla.) North 2023 running back Chapman McKown.

In speaking to some sources over the weekend, I think it's pretty clear he has committed to a preferred walk-on role. He's a guy that the Sooners clearly like but isn't someone they have offered at this point in time.

Just wanted to offer some clarity before anyone went too wild.
