Oklahoma has been trending for Coleman, so with him having a set date to be in Norman — and sources really feeling good about the Sooners’ chances — I went ahead and put a Rivals Future Cast in for the big-time 2026 QB.

The Orlando (FL) Jones HS QB should continue to see his rankings move up once more if us see him live at Rivals Camp so he is bound to become an even bigger name in the ‘26 ranks.

Oklahoma drops both in doubleheader with West Virginia, falls to 7-2 in conference

NORMAN --- After an impressive performance on Friday night, the Sooners were unable to carry the momentum into Saturday's doubleheader with West Virginia.

Oklahoma's offense was effective early in game one of the doubleheader, as the first run of the game was put on the board in the first inning after an error by West Virginia. OU led 1-0 headed into the second.

After being held to zero hits the night before, the Mountaineers' quickly changed that during game one on Saturday. Off of a wild pitch, West Virginia tied the game at 1-1 going into the third.

The Sooners regained momentum in the third after an Easton Carmichael RBI, but it quickly went downhill from there. Brendan Girton was given the nod to start on the mound, but was pulled in the fourth inning after West Virginia's bats were getting hot. He finished the contest with three runs allowed.

It was all Mountaineers' from that point on, with West Virginia jumping out to a 9-2 lead in the seventh and winning 9-5. This marked Oklahoma's first loss in conference play.

After splitting the first two games of the series, it all came down to the Saturday night clash. Oklahoma went with lefty Jamie Hitt on the mound, but the Mountaineers kept their momentum from the earlier game.

West Virginia started the game fast and never looked back. After two home-runs in the first inning, OU found themselves down 0-4 going into the bottom of the first. After being unable to get the bats going, Oklahoma exited the first down 0-4. After going down 0-6 in the second, Kyson Witherspoon replaced Hitt on the mound.

The Sooners' offense started gaining momentum in the third after an Easton Carmichael sacrifice fly and a Michael Snyder RBI single cut the lead down to 2-6, but despite the momentum the Sooners' bats went cold. Oklahoma lost 8-3 despite Witherspoon's 11 strikeouts and one hit in. 7.2 innings-pitched.

After losing the series to West Virginia, Oklahoma moves to 7-2 in the conference and will face Oral Roberts on Tuesday in Norman.

Braden Davis throws 12 strikeouts in Sooners victory over WVU

NORMAN -- After losing to Dallas Baptist on Tuesday, the Sooners bounced back in impressive fashion versus West Virginia on Friday night.

The Sooners' starting pitcher Braden Davis got started early and never looked back as he delivered his best performance of the season. The Sooners' pitcher put on a clinic on the mound versus the Mountaineers in his seven innings pitched. After an impressive 12 strikeouts, with eight coming in a row, Reid Hensley replaced Davis on the mound and kept the incredible pitching going. Davis and Hensley combined for a no-hitter, which was the Sooners' first no-hitter since Dane Acker turned the trick in 2020.

As for the Sooners' bats, they brought their A-game as well. They got started early as Easton Carmichael put the first run on the board after Michael Snyder sent him home on an RBI-double. It was the third and fourth innings that gave the Sooners' separation, as they put up eight runs on seven hits, giving them a comfortable 9-0 lead heading into the fifth.

Oklahoma's Michael Synder was great at the plate where he went 2-for-3 with three RBI's. Anthony McKenzie has himself a game as well, where he also went 2-for-3 at bat and delivered two RBI's.

After a near-perfect performance, Oklahoma went on to win 13-0 and has improved to 7-0 in conference play. They will continue their series versus West Virginia with a double-header tomorrow at 3pm.

OU softball: Torres' grand slam propels Sooners to win over Baylor in OKC

Alynah Torres hit a grand slam, Tiare Jennings set a program record and the Sooners left Hall of Fame Stadium with an 8-1 win over Baylor to open the weekend.

Takeaways, notes from OKC:

Kaden Helms

I read and watch everything I can possibly find on OU Football. Probably more than I should. LOL I hear Parker and Brandon and many other media guys talk a lot about Sharp, Roberts, and Mitchell. I know Helms is coming off surgery but how’s he doing? Pics of him look like he’s a dude! I have watch his HS film. Is there a chance he’s involved this year? He was a highly anticipated recruit if my memory serves me well. He seems to be bought in with the team. I just like the guy and I’m hoping he’s able to contribute. Any info would be appreciated.

Does the NCAA Basketball committee...

Just hate OU basketball. I just looked at the women's bracket and they were screwed too. A 5 seed with K-state at a 4 and Texas has a 1 seed and the women beat them twice and won the the season conference. Season is so much more difficult. Not only that, they place them in South Carolina bracket. We know the men situation. It's just an all-around hose job..

EXCLUSIVE: Jonah Williams on his recruitment and official visit plans

You want the five-star update? I got you the five-star update.

We've said it before and will continue to say it: this will resemble the David Stone saga from a year ago. Get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Owen Hollenbeck on Bill Bedenbaugh: “There’s no reason not to trust him”

Overdue story here, but I caught up last week with the Sooners' prized guard commit. He threw out a couple of cryptic comments about the recruitment of Fasusi, Rogers and Haywood.
