Make the board better.

A member recently brought it to our attention that he wanted regular coverage of the commits’ performances on Friday night. In part due to that specific request, we brought Zach on staff.

The team

I've watched this team for over 40 years and it's so hard to say I want to stop. I put up with the 90s and the crap that was put on the field, the highs and lows in the 2000s but this team is ridiculous. No one position, not one coach. I think they both love the Sooners but something just is not right. We all can say who's to blame but only they have the answer. Throughly disgusted, how far we have fallen.

OUI 2024 Survivor Pool - Week 11

NGL, the first 8 weeks of the season were among the blandest I've seen in 13 seasons of administering the Survivor Pool. A few losses here and there, but very few that people didn't see coming. Liberty's Week 9 meltdown injected some juice into things. Week 10, however, was massive. Three of college football's eight undefeated teams were beaten Saturday. Penn State getting beaten by Ohio State once again was hardly surprising, but few expected Pitt to lose by 30 to SMU, and nobody had undefeated Iowa State losing at home to Taco Tech. We'll do a full assessment of the carnage and the new lay of the land further down the page.

For now, a tribute to the fallen:
Amidst the chaos, we have a much slimmer pool of contestants. Our original 214 now stands at a meager 45. Congrats to all those still in it. Also, we now have a new leaderboard.

Here is where our competitors stand:
  • 3 Teams Left (3) - @Akio, @BoomerHoops , @melodicmarc . Well played. Can you hang on for the W?
  • 2 Teams Left (17) - Times ticking, but if things break just right...
  • 1 Team Left (22) - Looking grim...
  • 0 Teams Left (3) - If all 5 undefeated teams lose, you could be in a 45-way tie for first!
Here's how heavily the five teams have been utilized by our 45 remaining survivors:
  • Army (42)
  • Indiana (41)
  • Miami, FL (33)
  • Oregon (27)
  • BYU (17)
For the 42 of you that still have one or more options available, post your Week 11 pick in the thread below.

Potential Ex-HC Candidates for OU OC?

In the waiting room while my car is being worked on. With a few hours before kickoff, was just thinking about some potential current CFB head coaches who might be looking for work this offseason. Would any of these names interest anyone at all?

Neal Brown- WVU (former OC at Troy, TTU, KY)

Billy Napier- FL (OC at Clemson and AZ State, pretty sure he called his offense at Louisiana)

Hugh Freeze- Auburn (OC at ARK St, primary play caller as HC)

Gus Malzahn- UCF (this is probably premature, but they are really struggling)

This last one I’m typing with a wry smile, but how about a former Big 12 coach with strong TX high school ties?

** Throws grenade and runs away **

Tom Herman- FAU (0-4 in conference play this year, overall losing record the last two years)

Do any of these candidates move the needle for our armchair ADs out there? For me it’d be Freeze. Don’t think he’s a great human but I think he designs a damn good offense.
