Hoops: Various team notes as summer workouts and practices begin this week (Injury note added)

- Twelve out of the thirteen scholarship players are on campus and ready to go as summer workouts and practices begin this week. The exception is Mohamed Wague, who is also the only transfer who has not yet signed his paperwork. Wague has been overseas and will return soon. He has not signed yet because he still has a class to finish.

- Youth camps took place last week, and there were no official practices or workouts. The Sooners had all of their players (except Wague) on campus. With no official practices or workouts, the team played pickup games throughout the week.

- There have already been rave reviews about Jalon Moore during his first week back. One source said, “He came back a different player.” Several sources mentioned how impressive Moore has been, with one saying, “Moore is the Alpha and brings it during runs. He seems very hungry.”

- In the runs, Kobe Elvis and Dayton Forsythe primarily played the point guard position, matching up against each other in every game. Many believe that Elvis was a sneaky good addition.

- Forsythe, Kuol Atak, and Jacolb Cole worked out every day at 5 a.m. last week before youth camp started. The belief is that Forsythe and Atak will be great for each other.

- It isn’t just the three freshmen who have shown an impressive work ethic; the transfers have shown it as well. Many people have mentioned the drive to win that this team has. One source said, “This is a group full of hard workers.” The desire to win has been apparent with this team.

OU softball: The highlights from the Sooners' historic 4-peat

I took a look back at some of the most memorable moments from the Sooners' postseason run.

Note: It was impossible to include them all.

In Bedlam, Sooners get beat 6-3. It wasn't that close.

If the rain holds off this weekend, we might get swept. OSU has more homeruns than we do hits. With a tight strike zone, we got a run in the first on four walks, but against her former team, Maxwell wasn't sharp. She left down 3-2. Deal got hit hard in her first inning in relief. 6-2 when I got discouraged and quit watch.ing. OSU didn't star their but Kilfoyle came on in relief and has a 6-2. Aycock started. When she threw strikes, she got a lot of outs.

We might very well get run-ruled. We haven't looked good at anything. The closest call of the game went against OSU, or they'd be up more. This is depressing.

Top takeaways from Oklahoma's title-clinching win over Texas

Here are some of the biggest things to take away from Oklahoma's 8-4 win over Texas to capture their fourth-straight national championship.

Jonah Williams

As each day goes by, I see more and more things connecting Williams to Aggieland. Not gonna lie, I'm losing faith. Getting Omarion Robinson is now more important than ever!

Not the only thing I've seen but here's the most recent if y'all haven't checked it out yet:

2024 OU Softball🥎: A Preseason Preview Thread(Including Daily Player Spotlights)

As our Sooner gals return from a dominating 2023 season, boasting a 61-1 record, 18-0 Conference play, shattering D1 softballs record win streak(previously 47 games straight), some have thought where could our girls go from there? Some of the key departures this season due to graduation for the Sooner gals include Big names like Alex Storako (Eligibility), Haley Lee (Eligibility), and our Captain herself, Grace Lyons (Eligibility). We also saw some rather important players also leave for the portal. Including Jocelyn Erickson 1B/C, Jordy Bahl RHP, and Sophia Nugent C. None hit harder then losing our RHP in Jordy Bahl(committed to Nebraska). Queen Gasso Rolled up her sleeves and went to work in the offseason. Acquiring Veteran pieces in the portal with Riley Ludlam C/SS, Karlie Keeney RHP, Kelly Maxwell P, Patyn Monticelli P/1B, Coach Gasso wasted no time in replenishing what was lost. We will spot light below on the incoming Freshman. As we saw what our future holds a bit this past fall, and boy is it bright. As the sun sets, and a final ride booked for Seniors Alynah Torres INF/OF, Jayda Coleman OF, Tiare Jennings MIF, Nicole May P, Alyssa Brito 3B, INF, Rylie Boone OF, Kinzie Hansen C, can they bring home an 8th National Title 4 Peat? Can they go Undefeated? Time will tell. But we have all the right pieces to make this one hell of a ride. Sooners don't rebuild, we reload.

Our 2024 Oklahoma Sooner Softball Returns Feb 8th, vs Utah Valley in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. 10:30 AM.

OU's seniors etch their name in softball history with 4-peat

"They all have wonderful things ahead of them. They've cemented this program in history. They've cemented themselves in history. History can change, but these guys will never, ever be forgotten."

What a remarkable, unthinkable career for this group of seniors.

Gasso: The quest for No. 8 was 'heavy,' but 'an honor' to carry the burden

"It's heavy. It's just—I don't know how to explain how heavy—but 'heavy is a head that wears the crown' is the one thing that really stuck out. I heard someone say that and that really has felt true. It's been exhausting."
