Offseason Position Group Breakdown 2024:

These players are ranked in order in their position group by me. This is not a depth chart projection and is entirely opinionated. They are solely ranked on how good I think they would be in relation to others on the roster NEXT year. For this reason some highly rated recruits may be higher or lower than you expect. As transfer news rolls in, I will add/remove players from the list. There will likely be some guys I accidentally leave on or off the list because I am not sure of everyone's eligibility. If people like this I’ll post an updated version every couple weeks. If not, it was fun to dig into anyway.

QB:
Grade: B
Notes: This isn’t me saying Arnold is a B letter QB. I’m as pumped as the rest of you for Jackson Arnold, but growing pains are inevitable. I’d expect B level play 2024 and A level 2025.
RB:
Grade: B
Notes: I love this room, but it’s still mostly unproven. B is a good rating, I can’t justify an A yet.
WR:
Grade: B+
Notes: I think this room is absolutely loaded – and most of these guys are young. The only problem I can think of with them is how are you going to play all these guys. Also you could put the top 3 in any order and I’d agree.
TE:
Grade: D+
Notes: Obviously portaling here, but for now a true freshman being your best TE is very less than ideal. Even if he is one of my favorite players in the entire 2024 class.
OL:
Grade: D+
Notes: Gonna need to portal here as well. This room is largely young and unproven. I was unaware how dangerous this group could be for us if we don’t portal well. Need depth.
DT:
Grade: C
Notes: Young and promising. Mcclellan and or Hicks would be a massive boost. Need depth.
DE:
Grade: B+
Notes: PJ, Downs, and Thomas are gonna be very very solid next year.
LB:
Grade: A+
Notes: I think the top 6 are good enough to start next year, wild.
Cheetah:
Grade: A
Notes: I’m always confused on cheetah position players and I know others rotate in here as well, but these will be the main 2 and I have a ton of faith in them both.
DB:
Grade: B
Notes: Tons of potential here, Gentry is a dawg. Love the young guys
Safety:
Grade: A+
Notes: One of the best safety rooms in the nation if Billy’s back
K:
Grade: F
Notes: “If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all” (please portal)
P:
Grade: idk
Notes: assuming we portal a punter
