We lose graduate 2 guys....we have 2 guys to replace them committed. So it isn't numbers, im guessing quality is the concern. So lets start with a fact. You are not going to bring someone in from HS or Juco that replaces shepard. He is one of the top 2 or 3 recievers in the 100 year history of OU football. So worrying about finding him in this class is dumb. Likewise, Durron Neal was a very highly rated recruit, and it took him 3 years to really make a significant impact. So thinking someone we recruit will need to replace these guys production next year is not realistic.

Now lets talk about what we do have. Ryan Parker. Go watch his film. He is playing against Juco comp and he is running by people and making competitive catch after catch, and for a guy with good length.he has some really nice elusiveness. He looks to me a great deal like Kenny Stills in playing style. It would have been great to get him hear for spring, but he will be here in the fall and reasy to learn and compete just like any pf these 4* HS kids would have.

Hardy- he is a forgotten guy, but go look at his measureables and then watch his film. He is a 6-3 guy with a frame that will carry 200 plus pounds easily who as a zone read QB is really hard to tackle in space. He shows enough speed to make big plays. When you watch him pull and run.....imagine him instead catching a bubble screen and making one guy miss. Riley and Simmons best player to date, was also a HS QB converted to WR. Guy named Michael Crabtree. You think maybe these guys see some of the same abilities he had out of HS when making that offer?

We return 10 guys in the core from last year. One was our biggest per catch guy...westbrook who has 40 plys catches and 700 yards heading into the playoffs. Most teams would be thrilled to bring back a guy like that as your potential #1. That is a better season that shphard had had prior to 2014 when he became, our top target.

We return guys who have shown flashes. Baxter....yeah he dropped the pass at Texas....so what. Mthe kid carved out a roll that got him 20 catches with all the other recievers we had.

Quick.....higher rated guy out of HS than anybody we are presently recruiting...and he was our 2nd best reciever in 2014 arguably. He has the tools.

Then we got experience this year for mead, miller, green and todd. All have the ability to be big play guys for us, and opening up the opportunity may be all they need to take t to the next level. We've seen that happen many times in the past.

Finally remember we are only going to play 2 or 3 true wideouts most of the time. Andrews will be on the field more next year and between looks with both perrine and mixon, and one of those guys with Flowers, you reduce the need for bodies at that WR spot.

Now....our great season, and some late transfers have opened up a spot thst we might like to put a reciever in if we find the right one. But we are fine. Anybody else is not just gravy....but extra gravy.

We will miss shepard. For sure. The kid was a great player, competitor and leader. But his replacement for next season wasn't coming from this class....so with that in mind, if you look at what we have and the guys we bring in, and quit worrying about star rankings....,you will see we are set pretty nicely with weapons in the pass game.
