"With the release of Andrew East on Sunday, that left only one long snapper — James Winchester — on the roster.
“I think both of them are going to snap in this league,” coach Andy Reid said. “I think they’re both really good. I think it came down to just the velocity of Winchester. He was just a hair faster.”
Winchester started the first two preseason games against Arizona and Seattle, while East, a rookie, started the third against Tennessee.
“They came out so equal it was crazy,” Reid said. “We would have been happy with either one of them.”
Winchester, 26, is listed at 6 feet 3 and 210 pounds. He played football at Oklahoma and also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles."
