With D Reynods going back to Stanford, will Bob / Mike Stoops pick the DL coach? Mike and Diron didn't seem to have any problems coaching together during last season; however, (IMO) DR was probably going to be more vocal in Year 2 about DL schemes, who starts (even replacing current starters) and the DL and LBs being on the same page.
OU really needs to hire a proven DL coach and a proven DL recruiter; thus, will Mike as OU's DC be able to check his ego when the new proven DT coach suggests certain scheme changes and even in-game adjustments? Certain props to Mike if he listens to his D position coaches, that's not easy.
Goal: have a great coaching staff at OU and Mike not viewing the new DL coach or other D position coaches as a threat. Bob doesn't worry about his staff receiving credit for great coaching performances and if a staff member is the lead recruiter on lots of big-time prospects who sign with OU (second place finishes on recruits doesn't count).
Look forward to hearing board members POV.
