Good luck to you guys too. If we can get these two teams rolling the Big 12 won't catch crap like they have been.
The Big 12's refusal to squash The Longhorn Network sealed its fate as the 5th best of the "Power 5" conferences, chasing 4 teams out and leaving two private schools as top dogs while OU and Texas fade.
And as it turns out, people freaked out about NOTHING...and you're still pissing and moaning about something that (1) isn't a big deal and (2) was a minor reason why said 4 schools left.

I get it though...you hate Texas so much you will just put blame on them for everything. We've had this round and round many times and your beloved OU apparently was the only school that voted for a Big XII network...oh wait, no they didn't.
Not pissing and moaning. Just stating the facts that even you do not deny. Deal with it.

Multiple years after the fact and you're still "stating the facts" is indeed pissing and moaning. Furthermore, you are the one that apparently hasn't "dealt" with it...so follow your own advice.

What's there to deal with ?
It's already happened....and you're right, it is after the FACT.

Damnit man...you whining and crying still about the LHN splitting up the Big 12...you need to deal with it. The LHN is a non-issue and everyone threw a big fit over nothing. Some people apparently still haven't gotten over it.

You keep struggling to keep your lame argument alive. Evidently, I hit a nerve with the truth that you even agreed with.

The only nerve that has been hit is the one that the LHN hit on you.

Many OU fans don't even agree with your position on the issue. You however cannot deal with the LHN and are still pissing and moaning about it 2 or 3 years later...

Not true. I accept the LHN....the same way I accept a bad movie, a bad song, getting sick, bad weather, etc.
I made a simple and true statement and I'm standing by it....and you Horn fans going ballistic about my statement won't change my belief.

Yeah, apparently not looking promising for Mack and Soso...

Not sure why Locksley was interested in FSU, knowing they had 2 other QBs ranked higher, #1 and #12 dual threat QBs.

Locksley is listed was an ATH for FSU, so not sure where he is thought to be ranked as a QB.

I guess he wanted a fair chance to play QB first at Texas instead of going to FSU as an ATH.

Why not?

With that said, Texas is still ahead of OU and OU didn't have a single visitor this weekend...

Texas is 13th, with 23 verbals.
OU is 16th, with just 19 verbals.

Texas average star rating is 3.39
OU average star rating is 3.58

I think we're doing just fine. So is Texas. Both teams have an opportunity to close well.
That's fine and dandy Micco, but I'm not calling Bob "3* Bob" either...
Not on this board you're not, Mister!!!

Currently, OU and Texas both have 13 four star recruits and 10 3 star recruits.

The main difference in Texas #9 rank and our #13 rank is Texas has three more recruits than OU (one 5* and two 2*).

I'm with ya, but weirdly, FSU was recruiting Locksley as a QB.

Two more flips this morning. Texas pulled PJ Locke out of Oregon and Ryan Newsome out of UCLA.

Battalion I know you're keeping score so the final tally is Texas signed 9 kids that were committed elsewhere.

How many dropped Texas and went elsewhere throughout this process?

Just so we can keep it all official.

not as many as OU, but OU still had deommits. This type of recruiting is new to us horn fans, never seen anything like it and it is going to pay off big. So like they say, no pain without gain

jesus, did somebody die over here ? where is all of your fans talking signing day stuff ? hell, we went 6-7 and we at least have a pulse

PFKA said they added 8. I was just trying to see how many dropped (as is the topic of this thread).

My understanding is this is all about how many Texas recruits drop, nothing to do with OU.

And good luck with your recruits.

sure it does, if you are going to throw the decommit hammer then expect it back

. It happens to both schools, this year was really weird and we have not seen this type of recruiting before. I set the decommit bar at 5 after we got trenched by TCU and took heat over at OB. I think it was 7 or 8 with 2 coming back., burt and newsome. We addressed a bunch of needs but more importantly we added numbers. I am still waiting for that coward battex to show his face over here. He started this and now our class may finish in front of the aggies. Right now we are at 8 and they are 11. He has been all over the main board the last few weeks but I guess he ran out of witty things to say here. ohh..and do not take this as any type of hostile msg to you micco, I like you and take it like if we were two guys sitting around drinking beer and talking.

It's a culture difference. This board has never, never discussed recruiting to much degree.
OU wins championships on the field.
Texas has created a culture within itself that recruiting and star power are all that matters.

I always take it that way.. We're both probably more used to a lot worse than this every third morning drinking coffee at the fire station table.
wink.r191677.gif

Went to ALTS training in Anaheim this past week. Had a blast ad learned a lot. Have you ever been to one of these? It's put on by the IAFF.

And I promise I wasn't throwing out a hammer of any sorts. The topic was about Texas de-commits. PFKA announced they had eight flips. I was just trying to get a sense of how many you guys lost in that process to get a total aggregate. Kind of like my buddies that say they won $500 at the casino, but fail to mention they pent $600 to get that.

We lost Wariboko to UCLA. I think that was the biggest loss we had. "Word" is that UCLA offered his little brother, something OU wasn't willing to do which is why he de-committed earlier in the process. We flipped someone at the end I believe (McKinney maybe???) from North Carolina. It'll all work out good. Both OU and Texas got good kids, and got them at positions they needed to get them. I would have liked to have added another LB or three, but other than that I like the ones we got.

No, I need to . I get to FDIC every year for the combat challenge ( to work) one shoulder surgery and just had knee surgery will probably never allow me to do combat challenge again. UCLA killed it. They took one from us, one from aggy, and move dup 10 spots on 247 in about 10 mins. I just want to see us running the league. We get more respect when UT and OU are at the top fighting for the Big 12 title. Even if you have more
wink.r191677.gif

Both teams did very well and it was needed by both! We both need a QB to step up but what a great foundation today by Strong and Stoops! I think we can all agree that both programs need to be back on top for the Big12 to be successful! Congrats Sooners.

This post was edited on 2/4 2:55 PM by CB32

BOTH programs....need to start winning at high levels and getting back into the top 5-6 of the country.

Cow was right. Both UT and OU had good recruiting classes. Now how in the hell does either team beat Baylor? Bears were what 31st? KState probably in the 50s. Finally convinced these class standings have virtually nothing to do with what will happen, at least this fall.

Since someone asked below is a list of the de-comits for Texas this year. The ones in bold originally committed to Mack Brown.

Zach Gentry -
Michigan

Jordan Stevenson -
Wisconsin

Keke Coutee -
Texas Tech

Connor Lanfear -
Texas A&M

Maea Teuhema - LSU

Toby Weathersby -
LSU

Louis Brown -
Oklahoma State

Bryce English -
Kansas State

Jalen Campbell -
Sam Houston State

Johnny Shaw -
Louisiana Tech

Tim Irvin - Auburn

Jamile Johnson -
Texas Tech

John Burt - Texas

Aaron Garza --
Kansas

Keivon Ramsey - Uncommitted

Teuhema, Stevenson, and Garza also committed to Mack.

If you were bolding the Mack commits the new staff said no thanks to add Garza.

When the Ags are talking 16 head to head battles they are including the guys Mack offered but Strong's staff wasn't interested in. Strong's staff only went head to head on 8-9 guys.
