First, Gundy calls a reporter an "ass" and threatens to cut his access for asking a standard (albeit trite) question about pending staff changes. Rather than giving the standard "we'll evaluate everything during the offseason" response, Gundy goes into full butthurt mode and is rightly blasted for it by the media.

Second, one of his most highly rated recruits in the past few years not only transfers but transfers to nemesis OU under allegations that his medical treatment was, if not botched, misdiagnosed by the OSU medical staff.

Third, staring QB Spencer Sanders leaves the program via the portal.

Fourth, he hauls in an epic 63rd ranked recruiting class during the early signing period per Rivals.

I know he thinks he's bulletproof but I'm not sure how much nonsense his bosses can tolerate especially in light of his three wins in 18 games against OU.

Gundy must feel the walls closing in at the Stool. I could see him bolting that hell hole.
His terrific record at OSU notwithstanding, I'm not sure any top tier program would have him in light of his "loose cannon/no filter" track record.

I always go back to his "I am a man" rant that Jenni Carlson wrote about then QB Bobby Reid. Went viral

I like Mike. He rightly got indignant about staff questions because it's the wrong time for that. Doubly so if he's hiring Cale, who would be an asset to his program.

He was also right in his defense of his quarterback which led to "l'm 40."

OSU would have a hard time replacing him if he left, Bedlam results notwithstanding.

Right on all comments.
The last comment reminds me of Dave Rader at TU.
Dave had success at TU, by TU standards.
He would still be there if TU had let him stay.
TU wanted to take the next step and forced the prodigal son out.
Unfortuately, that step was backward and they have not seen Rader's success since.
I can see the same at OSU, especially, since it appears the B12 could end up being a minor conference in 5 years or so.

Gundy better hang in at Stillwater. For him to earn….check that….be paid $7.5M a year is a blessing. Much like Mark Stoops getting a raise to $9M at Kentucky. The Wildcats are down 21-0 at the half while touting a 7-5 regular season record. Unbelievable.
