What's the best team we ever played against for the NC?

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

Sorry, it was not Florida St. They were without their best offensive player. Just like we were against Florida without Demarco.

The WR Snoop Minis or something.

And again Mich was 14-6
PSU was 25-10

Actually I quoted the wrong post, I mean to quote his Penn State 86 Championship. BTW that 85/86 D was the greatest D in the history of College football.

2004 Southern Cal in my mind. Look how many NFL'ers they had.

The other would be the what 86 or 87 Miami Hurricanes?

Funny, I think I remember Stoops saying something after last year's bowl game about how Clemson last year was the best team he's ever played, including the SEC teams. Maybe I'm wrong here, but he said something to that effect (muted by ESPN, who desperately tries to maintain the illusion of SEC superiority).

In some ways, when Watson was healthy, Clemson was as good or better last year (but not along the OL, where they are clearly better this year). The loss of Mike Williams in the first game was HUGE, and it took 1/2 a season for the freshman WRs to begin filling his loss.

I didn't think Clemson was great last year, I thought we were terrible lol

We'll beat Clemson by at least 2 touchdowns.

Given that Clemson has easily the best defense you guys have faced all year; as well as the best QB, I find that pretty optimistic.
This defense isn't QUITE as good as last year's, and your offense is better. Looking at how your offense has played against opposing defenses this year - I think your offense will be limited to 24 points.

On the other hand, most of the teams Clemson has faced have better (statistically) defenses that yours. Part of that is a mirage, because while your conference is offense-heavy, the ACC is defense heavy. Still, I expect Clemson's offense to approach last year's score. Your secondary is better than last year (it was really BAD last year), but Deshaun Watson if a FAR superior QB to Cole Stout - on the order of 3 TD/game.
I expect Clemson to score about 34, given what we know of these teams.

The 2004 USC game was the only game in which I think we were beaten by a better team. I think we should have beaten Florida and LSU, even on their home field. I think we did win 71 against Nebraska, but that wasn't the strongest Nebraska or Oklahoma team. They just towered over what else was there that year.

Best: 2004 USC
Next: 1954 over national champion Maryland, 7-0

Frankly, I never thought any of the years in the Sugar Bowl under Switzer were even competitive. We were a lot better. Under Bud, we were better than our Orange Bowl opponents. Even Nebraska won once when we couldn't repeat, and they weren't great in the fifties.
