Give me your thoughts.
I know a lot of fans like to talk about payback and all that emotional stuff; but the fact is, if you are playing the game, whatever emotion you go in with is over in 5 minutes. You (as a player) become 100% focused on doing your job on that play and beating your guy. If you are thinking about last year, you are gonna lose.
There's a reason Deshaun Watson is a Heisman finalist, you guys. He'll be looking forward to playing the same D that our inept backup (C. Stoudt) had a field day with last year.
But it only takes 5 minutes to break an opponent's spirit, so don't fool yourself into thinking emotion isn't a big deal.
Most blowouts between big teams aren't because one team is sooo much better than the other. It's because one either gave up or tried to hard to get back in the game and started making costly errors.
Understood. The problem with Deshaun is he just doesn't seem to break, ever, no matter what is happening around him. All in all, should be a FANTASTIC game with two well-deserving teams. Can't wait. But it only takes 5 minutes to break an opponent's spirit, so don't fool yourself into thinking emotion isn't a big deal.

Let's be clear: I know a lot of media has made a lot of the blown offsides call. There were actually MULTIPLE missed calls ON THAT PLAY, including a targeting call against the NC player who hit the Clemson player who initially touched the ball. Also, NC's offensive live was CONTINUOUSLY holding, to the point of actually TACKLING Shaq Lawson to prevent him to getting in their backfield.
Point is, the offsides call would have made NO difference in that game. Examine this: Do you actually believe, given that (1) Clemson had 620 yds offense, compared to 360 yds offense to NC; (2) NCs QB was only hitting about 33% of his passes, compared to Watson hitting 70% of his passes........
Given all that, do you REALLY believe that NC could have taken the ball down the field, scored a TD, gotten NO response from Clemson's offense, and won the game???
Very, VERY unlikely.
No single call made or broke this game. Clemson dominated, and they dominated FAR more than the score shows. NCs QB, who is quite good, was completely shaken and unproductive. Did you see his eyes? The guy was completely shaken. Their 5* RB, who is really good, was essentially a non-factor. There was NO way - even with the points that Clemson gave them off a stupid move by our punter - that NC was EVER going to win this game. It really wasn't close.
Make all the excuses in the world, but you didn't turnover 11 guys on defense. So, logically, a lot of those same guys will be playing. I'm not claiming that OU isn't vastly improved - they most certainly could be. I'm just glad the media has pegged us as underdogs and everyone seems to be jumping on the OU bandwagon - because OU hasn't seen a team as complete as Clemson this year.Oh, you mean the D that everyone made look inept last year? And the D that no one has made look inept this year?
We had a nickel playing CB. We had a true freshman playing safety. We had Striker playing the wrong position. There's way too much difference between last year's defense and this year's defense besides names to even entertain such a comparison.

Whatever he is or isn't, he will be the best QB faced by OU this season as TCU's Boykin and Baylor's Russell did not play in their games vs OU.....Rudolph (OSU's starting QB) made just a handful of plays against OU.Give me your thoughts.
I think Watson is a dirtbag. Here's why:
1. He opens his Christmas presents on December 23
2 Eats cereal dry, no milk
3. Never uses his turn indicator to change lanes
4. Follows the Kardashians on Twitter
5. Chews his food with his mouth open
6. Calls his Mom by her first name
7. After every shower, he throws the bar of soap away because "it's dirty."
8. He asked three different girls to the prom, then didn't go
9. Gets all of his news from YouTube videos
10. Has about 12 decorate pillows on his bed
Neither has Clemson.
I am very surprised that Clemson is a better underdog. I'd prefer they weren't. And really, it's not a prognostication of who will win, but rather which number will bring in equal handle.
The key matchups will be OU's two freshman tackles blocking Clemson's edge rushers, who can run the ball more effectively without using the quarterback to do it, and which receivers catch the damn ball. But mostly, I believe, it's how much Clemson's Heisman invite quarterback breaks tackles in the pocket and then makes life miserable for the defense.
Striker gets there a lot. The roster says Watson weighs 207, but he looks bigger than that. And he is fast. How well he and Devonte Bond tackle Watson before he roams free will decide who wins, along with OU's inside rushers.
And then there is THE KICKING GAME. At the beginning of the year, OUr freshman punter/kicker looked like a combination of Ray Guy and Lou Groza. He's tailed off a little bit. I just hope the moment isn't too big for him.
I am certain that Clemson's return game both punting and kickoffs will be better than OU's. Especially punt returning, we just aren't very dangerous. But OUr coverage has been terrific, kick off kicker has been close to great. I think both defenses are pretty good. But I see a game that looks a lot like the ACC title game.
OU has been vulnerable on the first defensive possession of each half. Then they've adjusted to blocking scheme and been great, especially in the second half. All I know is that I'm really looking forward to it. And I think we have a great chance to win.
Now would be a good time to talk , yal always have trouble once the game starts..
Welcome to the board kidI know we are , now all u have to is go and win the game .. That is when the clock has all zeros , yal have more points than we do beside our names. That has been your problem , you haven't done that . In fact if we would have punted on first down every possession after the first play from scrimmage, guess what , we would have still won 7-6...

Game is gonna be damn tough. Watson is gonna be a tough task for OUs defense to shut down. This may be one of those games where OUs offense is just gonna have to outscore Clemson's offense, because I don't see this being a game where OU is going to dominate defensively. Historically, Mike Stoops has had some troubles with stopping QBs that can make bigtime plays with their feet. Watson is certainly one of those type guys.
You're a guy that's a fan of a team that played no one all year. There's a reason the committee was looking to completely devalue your conference with what they did to UNC prior to the game. You can keep up this false bravado, I'll laugh until the game is played and if OU loses then I'll be here to congratulate them... not you as a pathetic wannabe fan that doesn't know how to have respect for anyone else.
Good luck big fella. If OU wins, I hope you don't lose your job that week.
Yal are not a good pack of bottle rocket..Well, I agree to a point.
However, I think this team is so focused on the ultimate prize that they will play even better than they did against Baylor and the Pokes.
That was the metric that a lot of people have established as this teams best performances. Bullshit!
I think we'll see some fireworks new years eve that will have everyone saying...did you see that? Did you see that?
It's time for #8...and we're gonna get it.
Yal are not a good pack of bottle rocket..
I don't know what that means but, I'm sure it sucks.
Well I certainly think that applies to every team in the playoff at this point....they all will surely focused on the ultimate prize. Not like OU is the only team thinking that way. lolWell, I agree to a point.

OU got better and better as the year went. I just hope the long layoff between games doesn't take anything away from the momentum.
