I have been the last one to finally jump off the Venables bandwagon. He has to answer for the state of our program. Coaching is incompetent up and down the line. Not one position group is headed in the right direction at the end of three years! Our players are just not very good. Nobody can consistently make plays throughout the game. No QB can throw downfield with any accuracy. Our RB group is crazy messed up! The line is an embarrassment. Can any WR make a downfield catch??? Defense is extremely slow and small in stature at every level. These kids are trying, they’re practicing, training, lifting, etc. but, they are just not very good.
Where is the excitement for the future? Anybody think these coaches will turn it around? Where’s the top five recruiting class to upgrade our talent? Where are the big OLinemen from the transfer portal? Where’s the NIL program upgrade?
This is exactly what happened to Nebraska . . . poor coaching, inferior talent, getting accustomed to losing, fans losing interest, failure to keep up with the Texas, Georgias, well just about everybody else in the SEC!
This turnaround will take a good young Head Coach, huge increase in NIL, better strength and conditioning, total change in this losing culture and players quitting in their team! Since we can’t get rid of Venables for another 3 or 4 years because of his buyout, we’re in for a horrible next 5-10 years!
