Since we're at the beginning of the football doldrums--

I'm watching "Patton" for the umpteenth time and wondering what are three movies do you always watch when they're on? For me:

-- The Godfather
-- The Sting

I remember back in the day when Soonerbait was around and I started a movie thread like this one.

I've watched these flicks, and yes I'm not BS'ing you guys to come off smarter or more sophisticated than I really am:

The Revenant
Free State Of Jones
Social Network (why I never use social media anymore)
The Monuments Men
Der Üntergang (German 2004 flick on Hitler's last days in his bunker)
Peaceful Warrior

"Free State Of Jones" is primed for an Oscar. You watch.

Roadhouse - It's so bad, but it's a classic.
Private Ryan
Animal House
Caddyshack
Godfather II
Big Lebowski
A Serious Man

I'm presuming you've watched a few flicks by Quentin Tarantino, right Schooner? If you haven't seen it, "Reservoir Dogs" is a classic I'm sure you'd like.

For those of you discussing politics in other threads, watch Thirteen Days starring Kevin Costner if you want education on how to prevent the commies from starting World War 3.

Not one of my top 50, but I watched the 2013 sick movie 'The Purge' again last night, and suddenly, for only a second or two, wondered if something like that will be needed if it gets much worse. Well, something had to be the reason for The Purge to become an annual happening in futuristic America. I'm just screwing around on a boring Saturday afternoon. :D

How so? Each stereotype you just mentioned has different political views. Care to write a post that makes sense for once?
I don't write like a 4th grader or a texASS graduate, so it is unlikely that anything I write will make sense to you...

Totalitarianism has many different forms... maybe you should read a history book...

Commie, fascist, imperialist, statist, all about the same in my book...

You didn't say "totalitarianism" in your last post before this one. You said

As I said, please write a post that makes sense. This isn't some hard subject you slept through in college.

I don't much trust history books any more. I know what I lived in the last 65 years, and what has been written about what I lived isn't what I experienced. Most historians seem to have the same slanted view as the drive by media. So be careful in your view of "history books."

None of the history books I read in grade school went in depth as far as the slave trade coming from Africa. All because the liberal media wants America to buy in to the "white man's guilt" hyperbole they spew all over the news and in our movies. It wasn't until college when I learned about slaves being transported to the Middle East or to other African tribes.

Yes, but what happened 65 years before you were born. No history books needed, that would be strange.
