Not sure if MS took a pay cut. I seriously doubt it. But Montgomery was not making $875K/yr. There are some that are speculating that Monty took a pay cut to get the GB job.

If it were me, I'd consider a modest paycut to coach in the NFL instead of college. Focusing on actual coaching, tectics and strategies 6 months a year is a lot more attractive to me than kissing the feet of 17 year olds 12 months a year.

I don't know.

Kissing the butts of new money DL players cashing in 10X your salary can't be fun either, especially those that are under contract and know you didn't play in the league.

At least in college you have time to recruit and can sign prospects.

Yeah, I get that, but I just feel like the NFL is a purer coaching challenge. These guys may be rich a-holes, but at least they've done it, and not just a bunch of punk kids that think they're a lot better than they really are.
