Villanova fan here and must say looking forward to the game, I remember watching a few of these Oklahoma vs Villanova games in the past that did not go well. The game from 1988 in the Elite 8 was tough to swallow as was the game this year in early December. Nova has really improved since then and you won't see that same type of team. I think it will come down to the wire and Nova finds a way to win imo.

Congrats to you being in the Final Four in Basketball and Final Four in Football, I actually don't mind the football team, I miss those Oklahoma vs Nebraska football games from when it was the Big 8 (oh times have changed, lol), The Sooners seemed to always have their number.

I would say good luck, but not. LOL. If you do beat us, I'll be pulling for you in the championship game..............

Thanks for the nice comments, hey whatever happened to Billy Tubbs anyways? (I am too lazy to google it). Buddy Hield vs Nova's defense will be fun to watch, reminds me of the saying you can't stop him you can only hope to contain him.

Eh, Billy is still with us mortals.
81 years old and clearly retired. He left a mark on OU B-ball. His teams were really fun to watch. None of that 'pass four times' crap for him.

Take it down and score baby!
He had some of the highest scoring teams in CBB. Just nuts.
Totally a bummer that he didn't get the title against Kansas, Danny Manning.

oh I remember that year, It was the same year Nova went to the elite 8 and actually led Oklahoma at halftime and then the bottom fell out. Mookie Blaylock and Stacy King were unstoppable. It is still surprising Danny Manning got Kansas past them. I am definitely rooting for the winner of this game in the national championship game. I can't think of many nice things to say about North Carolina and the less I say about Syracuse the better.

Thanks Jim...come back anytime and talk shop. You're good people.

Oh Mookie, if memory serves...never seen a guy that could steal the ball like him.
I think they called him 'rubber band man' his ridiculous reach with his freaky long arms.
Great memories.

Tubbs is 81? That's just not right. I blame it on daylight savings time. HA! Seems like yesterday he was screaming at the refs. Time flies........

Yep, according to Wiki.
With the user correction feature they are usually spot on correct.

Seems like only yesterday he got hit by a car when jogging in Norman.

My holy gawd I'm getting olde...

Here is the greatest Billy Tubbs moment ever. Wait for it.
The story here: http://newsok.com/article/3129183

I don't even have to watch the video.
That was a classic.

As for Billy he went back to Lamar as their AD a few years back.
Seems like he was there for one or two years when he dismissed the BB coach and took over again.
I have seen him recently on some Sooner Women's BB broadcasts.

I loved those Sooner basketball teams that he coached. Fun style of basketball to watch.

I was lucky enough to meet him when the Sooners were playing in Lincoln in 1990. We spotted him at the team hotel, and talked to him for quite awhile. Really nice guy.

I had a similar experience in the concourse of the Tulsa airport. He was head coach at TCU by then and his Frogs came to town to play Tulsa. Wearing an OU cap, I said, "Hello Coach Tubbs. We sure miss you in Norman". His face lit up with a smile. We talked for about five minutes about OU memories and his TCU job as his team walked way ahead of him. He was a gentleman.

Ah, Billy-Ball! Those were the glory days. We thought our team was in a slump if it didn't score 90. I think I recall several in the 120 range ... or am I seniling?

Loved old Billy Tubbs. Wish all the best for him in his remaining years.

No, you are right.
I remember whining to some buds..."We won, but only scored 89 points? What the hell?"
Ah, the good times.

This game worries me. It seems like, most shooters have a tough time adjusting to a Dome. We live and die on the outside and hopefully, our guys can adjust to playing in a Dome.

I caught that too about the Dome, The one thing that concerns me is if Villanova is able to defend Buddy, What about Cousins. The anticipation for this game for me is through the roof, I feel like I have been waiting 3 months for this game to get here. CBS Sports Network is doing some really nice coverage of the Final Four on Friday from 1 PM to 5:30 PM showing the teams practice and I think ESPNU also has some decent Final Four coverage on Friday as well.
