Already had a chance to run this thing back. Watched live and there was some good but also some serious serious bad.

1. Brennen Thompson is not a number one receiver. He’s just not. He is not even in the same ball park as a route runner as Burkes/Anderson/Anthony/Farooq. He is a #3 at best who is gives you a vertical threat. Didn’t think that after spring and was very skeptical of what we were hearing.

2. Barnes is a solid player. However, Tatum is your best back. Seeing it live, his explosiveness is different. His one carry was the best looking thing all night and with an offensive line that struggles in a number of ways, it’s paramount to have a back with good vision, explosive acceleration steps and runs with good balance. Barnes is not going to ever be a tackle breaker because he doesn’t have the balance/core strength to hold up.

3. The offensive line is really bad. 64 needs to get an earful and not see the field after the helmet move. That was absolutely a BONEHEADED move. Howland needs to get slotted at tackle.

4. Woodi is Not putting up good film. Malone, Gentry, Jacobe, Kani are all better. Seeing it live it is even more obvious.

5. Peyton Bowen is missed. Billy Bowman is one of the worst punt fielders I have ever seen at a big time program. Has no sense of timing/feel for the position.
