Update: With Dave Aranda confirmed to stay at Baylor through 2025, there is some chatter this morning that GJ Kinne and/or Mack Leftwich might be targets for BV. Both young and accomplished coaches respectively. Leftwich is more Air-Raid, but Kinne is hurry up and run first. Texas State has a mesh of both concepts in their offense. A good balance of concepts that has been successful at Texas State. GJ is due for a low-end P4 job, but the OC job at the University of Oklahoma could propel him to a mid-tier P4 head coaching job with success. Mack Leftwich would be my ideal target. Young and needs to establish himself in the Offensive College Football world more solidly. Definitely something to watch the next few days.

Well, the chatter has certainly picked up. Some of this will sound familiar as Parker has said quite a bit of what I will say.
First, Klein and Stein are out of the running. I was going to include Craddock, but this is super fluid and "could" circle back. But for the same reasons Klein and Stein are out, you can make the argument Craddock is as well. The only thing from what I told that is keeping Craddock around is simply the previous relationship with BV. But BV does not want any of the current staff, save for maybe one, let go on the new staff. Craddock, like Klein and Stein, want full control including retention and hiring of current and future staff. I give Craddock a 10% chance of being the next OC at the University of Oklahoma.
Second, on that staffer that "may" be on the short list is DeMarco Murray. Now I only heard this from 2 people, I think it is noteworthy to explain. Many in the Switzer Center love DeMarco Murray, but BV is frustrated with the RB rotation, and has told DeMarco many times to settle the room and allow 2 backs to get into game rhythm. Unfortunately, this has become an issue with playing the top 3. Two main RB's and a third to rotate as a changer. The new OC "may" be given an opportunity to replace DeMarco, if these RB rotations do not settle in the last 2 games.
Third, BV wants to retain BB and EJ at all costs. This is why Klein and Stein are out. Also, why Craddock is apprehensive to the OC job right now.
Now to the fun part. As Parker mentioned Mullen and Arbuckle are the top 2 in that order. This is spot on from what I've been hearing. Mullen may wait out a little longer than OU would like. From what I've gathered, Mullen would rather have a head coaching job at a P4 school then a coordinator position. This is where the situation with Mack Brown and North Carolina come into play. From what I've gathered it seems like Mack Brown and North Carolina are already working towards parting ways. The plan is for Mack to retire at the end of the season. Mullen would be a/or the top candidate for the job. Now, I can't completely confirm this speculation, but have heard it from a few people in the region. It seems like the move would be fairly quick, in that case I believe Ben Arbuckle would be the next OC at the University of Oklahoma.
The next few weeks are going to be crazy with these top two candidates. The decision may drag on an extra week depending on the variables that I mentioned previously. But I expect us to have and announcement within the next 3 to 3 1/2 Weeks. Right now, I will ride with Parker's "Future OC Cast" as things stand now. Although, I believe the North Carolina situation is more pointed towards Mack retiring and Mullen being the top candidate.
