This is the guy that had a lot of success against our D while at Baylor and Tulsa has been lighting it up its first 2 games. It will be a good test for our D and will prove valuable for experience when we play Baylor IMO.

Being able to play a game against the same offense even though not as talented but still great experience for the Baylor game. If anything it will be an interesting thing to watch for Saturday.

We win the game but not sure if we cover the spread. I even heard Coach Montgomery say he has had success against OU's defense in the past so they are confident they can move the ball. Tulsa's Defense is terrible but their Offense can score points running the Baylor offense.

I don't think Tulsa has near the athletes to pull off even a close win.

The offense will struggle in the first quarter but won't take as long to get in gear as it did last week. The defense will be solid after the first half and the outcome will be 41 - 24. Not awesome but workman like.

Stoops is on a mission this year and isn't looking past anyone. He has let his brother know that he is not safe and that he has to bring his A game.

The defensive backs haven't been tested on coverage this year. Neither Akron or UT pushed the long pass down the field. I think TU will try. Their Q-B has had a couple of good games. We will see a minny-Baylor offense this week. I'm glad we will have a tune up.

I think the Vegas spread started at -35. I think we cover...............

Pros and cons to facing Tulsa and Montgomery.

Pro: We get to line up and play against what will effectively be Baylor's offense. That's a valuable tool come late November of how to defend them.

Con: Baylor gets to see how we're going to defend them.

I hope it doesn't include our DB's lining up 10 yards away from their wide outs.............

OU will play at 70% vs a team going 110% to show the Sooners up. They run the Baylor offense, but they don't have the Baylor WRs, #'s 1, 4 and 9 are the best in the nation and all three are very fast.

For all you x and o posters. Will we see Bond and Striker off the ends like we did against Tennessee? I would think we will be in the nickel package where Parker moves 2 the NB. That would leave Byrd and Thomas as the safeties. I would expect some DB\safety blitzes, maybe even some linebacker blitz activity. We may not need it if Walker and Wade played like they did last week and get penetration. I don't see Tulsa running on us, but they've had some success so far against inferior opponents.

BTW, Bond is a beast........

I would bet that OUr defense will be in the nickel most of the game, and possibly even some dime coverage. I expect to see Stricker coming off the edge as well as some combined pressures with the linebacker and the defensive backs.

I would tend to agree with this assessment. Bond is a very disruptive, play-maker and a nice compliment to Striker on the other side. He had a huge game vs. Tennessee.

I agree. In fact I just started another thread discussing it............

My edit: If we are in the nickel or dime 43 mentions, Bond or Striker will be replaced with a DB. That sucks........
