* One thing I want to go ahead and get out there ... it appears Jarvis Baxter was officially put on scholarship today by Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops. A number of the players have been tweeting Baxter 'congratulations' this evening. Bob wasn't available for post practice tonight so we were not able to talk with him about it, but it's not something that should come as a surprise.
* We spoke with members of the defensive unit tonight ... Mike Stoops and Kerry Cooks were two of the main features from the evening. Going to jump in the chat at 7:30p and then I'll post some tidbits from this evening afterwards. Did want to pass along the Baxter news before the chat.
* Cooks did say that Saturday is lesson learned for PJ Mbanasor -- after being thrown into the starting spot following the suspension of Jordan Thomas on Friday. In terms of Jordan Thomas ... Cooks said he returned to practice on Monday and understands how big of a letdown his suspension was for the team. A lot of 'family' talk from Cooks. Easy to tell why he's building a name for himself as a recruiter.
* Cooks had some interesting comments on the 11 a.m. kickoffs as well ... in short, it's no bueno for recruiting purposes. One of the reasons being it's hard to get kids in for visits after Friday night games. The 11 a.m. kickoffs compound this problem for prospects that are flying in from the coasts.
* More on this later ...
