Just had a long, and very real, talk with five-star weekend visitor Caleb Kelly and have to say I think Oklahoma is in very good shape here.
I asked him about some of the things we've all wondered about; is Chip Viney departing going to change his recruitment? I think the way that answered played out will surprise, and please, you.
What about the situation in regard to Hatari Byrd and Michiah Quick not playing a lot? Again, his answer truly surprised me but it was also interesting to hear him talk about Quick, who hosted him, and how complex the visit was between the two of them.
It was one of the more telling interviews I've done in the 2016 class and I think you all will like it.
To give you all a little something it was his mother's first trip to Norman and she clearly liked what she heard from the Sooner staff.
"All these visits, she is seeing, she wants to meet all the people that I could be playing for and has to trust with her son. I have no California school or anything, so I’m at least a plane ride away, so for her it just helps her out and meeting people I can play for, she feels safe with most of the places," he explained.
"She was fine with (Oklahoma), she liked the coaches a lot."
