In case y'all didn't see it, OU received a commitment from Malaya Majam-Finch on Monday night. She is the niece of Jennie Finch, who won two medals with the US Olympic team as a pitcher. I wrote a story here: https://oklahoma.rivals.com/news/ou-softball-sooners-land-commitment-from-malaya-majam-finch
Malaya had been on OU's radar for awhile, and she was heavily recruited by UCLA and Florida, too. She's the 10th-best pitcher in the class. Huge get.
Another note — Ayla Tuua is the next player to monitor for the 2026 class. She's rated as the No. 6 pitcher by Perfect Softball and the No. 9 player in the class by Softball America.
She was on campus for the Patty Gasso statue unveiling last week, and her and OU have been circling each other for awhile. It's definitely not a done deal yet. She's had interest from Texas A&M, Texas, Florida and UCLA, among others. But there's definitely buzz on the OU side of things about where things stand with her.
Pretty clear that Patty is trying to load up on pitchers in the next recruiting class.
