The committee said that OU's proximity to the Cotton Bowl was not a factor in the Sooners' fall to the 4th seed in the final poll.
Right.
This is a slap in the face to this OU team, period. OU is already posted as a 2.5-point favorite on a neutral field in Miami Gardens against the #1 ranked team in the country. I'm sure that's just by accident, because all reasonable and rational people know that OU is the 4th best team, and Clemson is #1 in the country.
All if a sudden last night the talking heads on ESPN were all suddenly taking the same opinion, that Michigan State would move past the Sooners, claiming that the credentials of Michigan State are better than the Sooners. BTW, Michigan State is a 9-point underdog to "#2" Alabama.
Right. Gerrymandered brackets could never happen here, not in the good ol' USA...
Think it's all about the $$. They want an OU/Bama NC game.

Who did they lobby?
I also think that Bama lobbied hard to not play OU first. They much much much prefer the Spartan pace to OU's.
WNS I suspect everyone has their "insider" on the committee, including Bob Stoops. I think the move to 4th is good for OU and good for $$$$. You the money managers would love to see two thoroughbreds like OU and Alabama go at it again. One game at a time please.
Fitty, I did a little research on tickets in Phoenix. There is a Luxury Box of 8 seats with food and drinks included, private entry and parking for $207,000. Nose bleed is around $550, field level between the 30s is $3000 to $4500. Club seats $5000 and Honor Ring (as it is called) is about $6000. There is a great venue around the stadium that is very festive. It will be rocking with cinema size screens, live music, etc.
OU is pushing Orange Bowl tickets to season ticket holders at $175 each.
