THE OFFICIAL BEDLAM GAME THREAD - OU vs. OKIE LITE - GAME #12

I believe that in spite of the intensity of the OU-OSU rivalry, Stoops and Mike Gundy like and respect each other.
I think it's also possible that OU did not want its defense or kick return team on the field again, even with seconds remaining. It was a very physical game with numerous injuries....maybe the coaches on the OU sideline decided enough was enough.
Whatever the reason or reasons for Perine taking a knee, I think it reflects well on Stoops, his staff and his team. Such a display beats the hell out of the frequent pre and post game taunts and threats and the on-field hostilities akin to prison yard warfare, which so many fans take delight in.
I want to see games decided by skill, coaching, planning and execution....not by rotten, stupid, narcissistic conduct.

According to Stoops in the post-game press conference, Perine made that decision on his own. And he was in full support of it.

Perine has been all class. I said so in the game thread on OSI and everyone jumped in and agreed that the kid is classy, is a great sport, and an all around stud.

Yep. He's a freshman rb. I was hoping for a Florida- OU Sugar Bowl but after the beating Bama put on the Gators I suspect we will be playing another SEC team. Everyone is predicting Auburn.

I hope the committee does the right thing and make the buckeyes play in a 'regular' bowl game and loses their spot to Wisc or the Nittany. Don't think it will happen but it should.

I know what you're saying, Sooner buddy, but I can't see moving #2 out of the top four. Ohio State will likely make the playoffs without being a conference champ.

I guess I should listen to the crybabies and whiners and self-loathers because they are right?
You are the definition of the OU fan whom watches his team roll through the Big XII, win the conference, then proceeds to think everything is just fine and dandy.
If a Big XII title did in fact carry any weight nationally, then OU would be talked about as a possible CFP team. But OU's chances are dead in the water. So go ahead and call OU fans whom look at reality, even though you choose to call them crybabies, whiners, and self-loathers. Keep on drinking that Big XII title Kool-Aid there buddy!!

I guess I'm just not as good of a fan as you.

Hope you enjoy your nice cup of STFU. 10-2. Big 12 Champs. Despite your wonderful contributions as 'fans' all season.
Dang man. Really? If their impromptu posts about their observations during the game bother you, just ignore them. The last thing this board needs is more banned members.

Then there was that time when Tea Cup got spilled from #3 to #6 for being co-champion. Head to head didn't matter until the last week...

I know that, Pt.......I think the committee should do the right thing and include the best four teams. If so, Ohio State should be in. If they choose only from the conference championships then change the rules and make it a prerequisite for the playoffs. But that can't happen because of the independents.

One thing in the game that stuck out like a sore thumb was that Mayfield can throw in wet conditions.
Rudolph can't.

Baker has slowly become my favorite Sooner quarterback and his announcement of his intentions to return next year solidified my decision. A lot of great Sooner QBs but I gravitate to Sooners that love the college game so much they play until their eligibility has run its course.

So how do you determine that? If tOSU is one of the top 4, why couldn't they win their conference? Sure, they only have one loss. So does Clemson.

Clemson lost to Pitt, who also beat PSU, who beat tOSU. Maybe Pitt would beat tOSU as well. MSU looked like they should have. By my eye test, PSU is better than tOSU right now, but what do I know?
I know the whole CFP selection process is a farce...

I don't know for sure. It's just my opinion. If Ohio State gets beat badly, I'm probably going to wonder how Penn State would done and doubt my thinking. Happens every year. After Alabama killed Michigan State last year, I wondered if there wasn't a better team that should have been there instead of the Spartans. Just coincidently that team was Ohio State, and I hate those guys.
