Ah yes remember it well. The Mildcats were completely inept offensively. The Cameron Aggies would have shut them out and they don't even have a team any more.

Thanks to that asshole, Don Davis. 1987 NAIA National Champs, and then he pulls the plug on the program. There's a bunch of us who've never forgiven him for that.

BION .... i was at that game at Cameron Stadium in Lawton. It was bitterly cold, wet and windy. In fact the punter from the other team kicked one that went up, hit the north-west gale and blew back over his head for a negative yardage boot. Anyway Veritas you're right about Davis.... for some reason he had it out for football...think it might be the reputation CU had for being a last chance u?

I was there, too. Section 4, Row 29, seat 14. We had the same seats from the very first Cameron game played in Cameron Stadium (then Burch Stadium, I think) to the very last.

As far as last chance U, almost all of the NAIA schools could have held that moniker. I think he just hated athletics period. Wasn't long after he took over that Lonnie Nichols was gone, too.

Growing up in Duncan as a kid if I wasnt going to play for OU I wanted to play at Cameron. Shut the program down before I ever got the chance.
