Texas' slot receiver in motion threw Mike for a loop...

Every offensive snap, it was like the spread triple option. Either give it to the slot receiver in motion, hand it off to the rb or Heard would keep it and run. Seemed simple enough to put a spy on Heard and play the other two options with a base defense.

I'm definitely not an expert but could some of the coaches on the board explain why Mike and the other coaches couldn't figure out this scheme? Hell, I figured it out after their second possession.

We've never been able to contain a running qb but their scheme didn't seem complicated. They never had any intentions of throwing the ball.
