Texas\ Notre Dame.....who you pulling for?

Dr. Pacheco speaks hard truths. I'm actually ashamed to see fellow Sooner fans belly up to the "good for the conference" trough. Let's let the SEC have the monopoly on that pathetic behavior.

You would have a stronger position had the Big XII been included in the playoff last season. But alas....the Big XII was left in the cold and the entire country took notice that the Big XII came off as being pathetic and weak. It's easy to say "if we go undefeated, we're in", but in the real world, not many teams go undefeated. It's the slew of 1-loss teams that are fighting for spots in the playoff. That is what OU should worry about being in the Big XII. Hell, there was talk last season about whether FSU deserved to get in with their conference schedule and close games all year, and FSU was undefeated.

Either the conference as a whole needs to "nut up", or OU risks being dragged down with it. Last year with the Big XII being left out of the playoff, it was a bit of a warning shot to some who saw it for what it was. The teams in the Big XII can't afford to allow it to happen again.

No OU fan here is saying they enjoy watching Texas win, but I think some are seeing more of the big picture in seeing the benefits of Texas winning this game when it translates to overall national perception of the Big XII. Same with the OU/Tenn game.

Nut up gents. Hate the underachieving gold diggers to the south.
This. How any real Sooner fan could ever root for the Horns in any game (unless, as one poster said, it would directly and immediately benefit OU's title chances) is beyond me. I could intellectualize it and decide to root for the Horns for long term conference, and by association OU's, benefit. But I know damned good and well once the ball was kicked I would recoil in horror at every Texas score, and giggle like a Jr. High school girl at every Longhorn gaffe.

I learned that I just can't talk myself into rooting for a team I have traditionally hated. I tried it when Switzer coached the Cowboys, but found I hated them just as much with the King on their sidelines. Sorry Barry..

I can't pull for Charlie's Angels. I hope touchdown Jesus beats the hell out of'em.
