TE Carson Kent from Kennesaw State transfers to OU

He will be a great addition, TE is about desire mostly blocking but getting open against a LB. Good size.

He will be a great addition

"Great" might be a stretch.

He was 0 stars coming out of high school and walked on at Kennesaw State, where he had 18 receptions for 217 yards. His transfer portal ranking is 434th nationally. This is the type of player that would be scout team material at other major programs. We'll see where he ends up at OU.

Is this all we are gonna get? Guys from schools we have barely even heard of? We are freaking OU.

Apparently this new generation doesn’t appreciate our history anymore. Or maybe the 6-6 season, our 5 star quarterback’s failure and 22 players entering the transfer portal has something to do with it. Never know what these kids are thinking.

I would like to have OU getting some defensive players via the portal.
But I believe Mateer’s arrival can go a long way in getting OU back to relevance again.
There are two good WR’s and two elite offensive linemen in the 2025 class.
Burks returns and Kearney, Ragins, Jordan and Carreon have to get better.

With our depleted receiver group I was hoping one or two of Mateer’s WSU guys would follow him to Oklahoma.

OU adds its 3rd member from Kennesaw St. a Kicker. He was 14/18 with a long of 49 yards. Is this the best OU can do?

so 9 offensive and 2 special team players through the portal. I guess he thinks the defense is ok.

another TE that had one catch for 2 yards. His other offers were from Southern Utah, Rhode Island, Tennessee Tech, San Diego, Montana, Houston Christian, Sacramento State, New Mexico, Kent State and Richmond.

There are and always have been players from small colleges on NFL rosters.
I think the transfer portal can be an opportunity for these kind of players to contribute on a Division-1 level.

That's true. And if you look at those players, they dominated and stood out at the small college level. This is not one of those guys.
You may be right, but I am sure the coaches, especially Arbuckle, watch his videos and saw some things they liked.
The same is true for all the incoming transfers.

He's a preferred walk on, so who cares.
