Patrick Hudson is still on campus and OU coaches have been able to spend a lot of time with him. That's the good news.
The bad news is that it doesn't appear Hudson will give his signature on this visit. That doesn't mean that it's over as it is kind of expected that Hudson's decision wasn't meant to be made this weekend. We're told this could still drag out a bit.
But getting a visit, being able to talk to him is a hell of a lot better than having everyone out there wondering if the Sooners even have a shot.
We're not ready to venture a guess on where Hudson ends up at this point. OU is doing everything they can to put themselves in position to land him.
PARRISH COBB
This is definitely a weird one. Our Texas people say Cobb was in Austin last night and earlier today for a 2016 signee's birthday party. But he will not be visiting the campus or with UT's coaches during his visit in Austin.
Sources close to the OU program have informed us they believe Cobb is down to OU and UT. But no one on either side feels absolutely great about where they stand.
But it does appear OU is in the driver's seat based on the last 24 hours. OU has been trying to figure out where they stand over these last 24 hours and there is some indication that Cobb will sign with the Sooners, but as I said, no one is completely secure that it is a done deal.
I don't think you can absolutely rule out Texas because Cobb has just been all over the map, literally. Not making any visits before deciding has just added some uncertainty into the mix.
But right now, we're comfortable saying that OU leads on Cobb. Nowhere near a wink worthy prediction though.
Cobb's recruitment is like holding on for the roller coaster ride to be over.
We're told it's likely Cobb will just announce something out of the blue on his own.
