OK guys, time to move on to week two, I won't pretend I wasn't pulling HARD for Rhode Island but congrats to you all that stuck with Kansas after being burned a few years in a row.
Week 1 Picks
The rules are simple:
---Pick one Big 12 team each week that you think will win that week's game. If you team wins, you advance to the next week. When a team you picked loses, you are eliminated from the competition. Remember you ARE NOT picking against the spread, these are straight up win/lose scenarios.
---Once you've picked a school, you cannot pick them again the rest of the season. This means you have to pick carefully and assess for things like bye weeks, matchups, etc.
---There are no byes for participants. In other words, you have to pick a team every single week. You have to watch later in the season to make sure you have a team to pick every week, because if you get into a situation where every team you have left is on a bye week and can't pick a team, you'll unfortunately be eliminated.
---Since there are 14 weeks in the football season and only 10 Big 12 teams, we will, as we did last year, simply pick 3-4 games (going with the best games around CFB) in the final weeks to separate however many of you all are left. If anyone (or multiple people) can make it all the way through 14 weeks without losing, we'll use the bowl weeks as tie-breakers.
NEW RULING: A question last year was if you could make choices after Big 12 play had begun that week, in the interest of simplicity. I've given it some thought and I'm going to say no.
If the first game of the week has started, you CAN NOT make a change to your existing choice and if you haven't already made one, will be eliminated. It's not about unfair advantage, it's just easier than going back and checking the schedule repeatedly. So basically your deadline for picks is 6:30p Friday (CST).
