Four-star 6'5" shooting guard Kameron McGusty out of Katy Texas committed to the Sooners today. He is currently a four-star recruit ranked #40 by ESPN, #36 by Rivals, and #29 by Scout which makes him a consensus Top 50 player. Other schools recruiting him were Florida, Texas, Indiana, Louisville and many others. He's been the Sooners top combo guard target for 2016.
“Ever since the first time I was there I loved it,” McGusty said. “My parents knew that. I felt like at the end of the day Oklahoma was where I was going to end up. Everything about it felt right. My parents felt the same way about it. I feel like Oklahoma is the school that can give me the best opportunity,” he added.
“It was more of an opportunity thing,” he said. “It felt at home. I always had an at home feel. Every time I went there it felt more and more at home. It would be hard for me to go to a different school.”
“A lot of schools really develop their guards, so of course that played a factor,” he said. “They developed their guards that’s a plus. I wanted to go to a school that develops their guards. I’m glad I made the choice.”
He's really blown up this summer on the AAU circuit and is quite a recruiting coup for Lon Kruger and his staff.
