I've given up hope that Mike Stoops will get pushed out but maybe I'll be proven wrong.
We've had a championship offense for a while now but not even an average defense. Anyone catch that stat showing OU dead least in ALL of college football on red zone defense. In addition I think they said we haven't stopped anyone on 3rd and short all year either.
This is Pathetic. I truly believe that even an average defense would have won us a title last year.
We'll never get back until this gets corrected...
I would not even call this defense average. Players looking confused..odd pass rush schemes...and worst yet...no 3rd down stops with plus 10 yards for opponent to gain. Then the idiot calls a time out 4th and 2 yards. He has no clue. Sh*t can him and his croanies. Start over...this ain’t working.
I've never seen this submissive of a defense. Even the defensive line are not attacking the line of scrimmage. We are allowing any offense to either have 5 yards on a run or a pitch and catch on a pass.
We are only the 121 worst in All of college football on 3rd and short.

We all know what needs to happen. Dillusional LR must come to grips that this program has a big albatross to shed. The extension of a contract and a raise has to be the most idiotic move OU has made. The guy can’t coach and the ass is too stubborn to change. Jack In Box does not belong in any Coordinator position in FBS.
I also believe that Mikey needs to go. Our DB's are small and Texass exposed that all day long. I'm really tired of sitting back at 20 yards from the receivers and allowing them to get 18 plus yards on 3rd and 21. When you give a team like Texass opportunity after opportunity to convert on 3rd or 4th and 1 or less, they are going to convert that 100% of the time vs our defense. In my opinion our Defensive line is very average. They can't get off blocks to save their lives and they get pushed around very easily in short yardage.
I'm not sure what it's going to take to get Mike gone but as long as we continue you winning conference titles or competing for them, the excuses will continue to flow.
The lineman aren't attacking the LOS. They're catching the offensive lineman as they fire off. Our guys are beat before the snap.
Tackling and overrunning ball carriers is on the players. Everything else is on the scheme.
Might be the reason that they are not attacking at the LOS is because our defensive linemen aren't very good. They make no effort to get separation from the offensive linemen which leads to them not getting off blocks for crap. We need difference makers on the d line and honestly I don't think we have them right now.
