I think ND being idle and having no conference affiliation will be used against them with the committee, and I'm guessing there's a few old school committee members who will rail against ND because of their lack of conference affiliation. Plus does anyone really think ND passes the eyeball test? They're so mediocre.
So is there any chance that if we really thump UT that we actually get the #3 seed? Unlikely, I know, but possible?
