Next years team will be a remnant of this years team. The fact that so many kids left the program already is a reality check for the future of college football in Oklahoma. Loyalty is good up until the point a better offer comes along. The fan base needs to get used to the use the idea the dudes in Crimson and Cream are independent free agents/hired guns. The highest bidders wins the day in the new college football landscape. Enjoy the ride one year at a time because every year will bring new defections along with desperate attempts to fill the holes left behind.

Pretty much it.

Its gonna be that way from now on just have to get used to it.
I am hanging on by a thread already and may just give up Football altogether. Many have already.
It is what it is and will never be again.
Building and maintaining an elite football program now goes beyond finding and developing talent… now it’s more about buying it without limitations.
Only a handful of teams will reap the rewards.

Just read on "X" that Brent said he will sign 37 new players and 27 will be High School kids.

I remember feeling this way last year when our good players (or so I thought) were leaving.........Only to have Brent replace them with new names that seem to work out pretty damn good!---Trust the man--Trust the process!!

HS will always play a key part, especially building a culture. Portal is great for refilling need and instance productivity. Portal will help field competitive teams for new staffs. Just have to have the right balance.

A rumor going around in Nebraska is that an NIL group in Nebraska is willing to go as high as 5 million dollars for a QB. This info came from a person that has ties with Sandhills Publishing in Lincoln.

As will most of the other teams in the country. Welcome to the modern landscape of college football.

Venables has adapted well and he is staying ahead of the curve, making good use of the transfer portal to bring in impact players who fit in with his culture. The coaches who remain in denial and have their heads stuck in the sand like Dabo Swinney are going to fade into mediocrity.
