@Parker Thune @Brandon Drumm have maybe a more in-depth question here, but... would the school prefer 105 scholarships and no walk-ons or the current 85 scholarships and 20 NIL-incentivized PWO. What I mean is, the NIL scholarships pay for food, housing, tuition, etc. What's the effective difference to the school then? Like the school would eat those costs from a scholarship but now boosters just pay for that, so that means the school is getting extra revenue for tuition from those players, right?
I feel like the schools may want the flexibility of the PWOs as it allows them to better get rid of players. I think of it like: in the P4, all scholarships are fully guaranteed to the student, so if the team doesn't want a player anymore, they can't just pull their scholarship, but they could pull NIL deals that are clearly year-to-year at this stage, right? I feel like that may be a reason why SEC isn't jamming through max scholarships?
