The biggest thing I see plaguing this team is an absolute lack of complementary football. When the offense is humming the defense is a sieve. When the defense bows up and gets off the field the offense can’t get anything going. This, coupled with the turnovers, led to our ultimate downfall. We could just never collectively gain any momentum as a squad and you could feel it in the stadium.
Also… the 2nd pick was a horrible missed PI call IMO.
This team is going to make a huge leap next year as we get our young guys up to speed. You can see the athletic potential in guys like Gentry, RSJ and Kanak that our current crop just flat lacks. With Bowman leading the charge into next year and the leader being the best player I do feel like we can see a significant jump in 2023. As the pod indicated, the purpose of the rest of the season is now to win out, hold the recruiting class together and continue to search for potential difference makers in the front 7.
