A High School Football Field Somewhere
QB: Kyler Murray - 90 - He absolutely lived within the offense but made several beautiful plays/throws.
RB: Trey Sermon - 92 - That's the Trey Sermon you know and in case you missed it: NEWS.
HB: Carson Meier - 86 - Nice touchdown catch, really did a nice job on the edge on several big runs.
TE: Grant Calcaterra - 86 - I thought it might have been his best game of the year, had a few tough catches.
WR: Cedarian Lamb - 91 - He has become Mr. third down.
WR: Marquise Brown - 80 - Wanted to score him higher for dealing with injury but score is what it is.
LT: Bobby Evans - 89 - Largely REALLY good pulling but Collier gave him some problems.
LG: Ben Powers - 93 - First time I remember seeing the 2017 version of Powers.
C: Creed Humphrey - 90 - The light is coming on, you can start to see what all the excitement was about.
RG: Dru Samia - 86 - Didn't have the devastating blocks but thought he was pretty consistent.
RT: Cody Ford - 95 - That counter wiping stuff out from the right is no accident.

Offensive Average: 88.9 (978)

DEFENSE:

DE: Kenneth Mann - 81 - Was ok but that four down front wasn't the fit I thought it might be.
DT: Neville Gallimore - 86 - On the flip side, he flashed several times.
DT: Amani Bledsoe - 76 - Thought he got pushed around a bit.
DE: Ronnie Perkins - 83 - Thought he might explode but he was very solid.
LB: Kenneth Murray - 87 - TCU spread him out a lot but made some solid one on one tackles.
LB: Curtis Bolton - 81 - Thought he looked a step behind a few tackles.
NB: Brendan Radley-Hiles - 74 - The missed INT will be remembered but not that he was in position to make a big play (a rare occurrence in recent years).
CB: Tre Brown - 87 - Really thought he had a nice game the big completion, that's just a great play, it happens sometimes.
CB: Tre Norwood - 88 - This is getting watched in the MMI, is he REALLY that good that NO ONE goes his way? I'm going in on it.
S: Robert Barnes- 77 - Can't say he caught my eye a lot - either way. May be much better/worse than this score.
S: Kahlil Haughton - 80 - Hey, he dropped a ball but I saw a big hits, looked more like a guy playing downhill.

Defensive Average: 81.8 (900)

SPECIAL TEAMS:

K: Austin Seibert - 88 - Everyone will get up in arms but was kicking into a brisk wind and against a penalty...not a lot of that is on him.
P: Austin Seibert - 91 - Still think this work has been as consistent as anyone on the team.
KR: Tre Brown - N/A -
PR: Cedarian Lamb - N/A -

Special Teams Average: 89.5 (179)

KEY RESERVES:

RB: Kennedy Brooks - 96 - Guy looked outstanding and check out his run blocking on Murray's called run near the goal line in the second quarter.
TE: Lee Morris - 94 - Oklahoma's Cris Carter.
CB: Parnell Motley - 78 - Had a nice pick and even the big play, Reagor obviously got away with OPI.

Reserves Average: 89.7 (268)

Team Average: 86.1 (2325)

My Team Grade: 87

Obviously special teams is part of the equation and you can't remove it but if you take out the long kickoff return and bad special teams play in general and you've got the best matchup of offense and defense we've seen from the Sooners since...well, I'll have to think about it. It was a very, very complete performance.

Now you've got to acknowledge that the defense left some big plays - the kind of plays it has to make if the team wants to achieve it's goals - on the field but it was a more consistent unit that looked less confused and made more plays both between the tackles as well as in space.

On defense it also looked as though the four-man front didn't fix all of the issues but it did seem to spark Neville Gallimore a bit.

Offensively Oklahoma's line is coming along nicely and it's amazing how Oklahoma has just shifted their run focus with a LOT of counter to the right where you have Cody Ford downblocking and Bobby Evans pulling and picking up blocks in space.

Just a very, very solid all around performance.
