I have a hunch. No grounds, just a groundless accusation.
But my hunch is that Charlie is not publicly offering key players in Texas, but does so privately and if they are willing to commit, encourages them to commit to OU, with the intention of turning that in the last two weeks before signing day. I think this might be more common in recruiting than we might imagine.
It makes the class of key opponents less likely to be as solid as otherwise, by gutting key members of their class, too late to cultivate quality players at the same positions.
That likely two of our best three Texas high school recruits seem possible to change their commitment in the same time frame ten days before signing day seems like a curious coincidence at least.
And that both of these top players in the state, not receiving a reported offer until three weeks before signing day is quite suspicious. I know. Charlie is such an ethical guy, that he'd never do that.
