Ranking the BigXII Head Coaches 2017

I heard this and for the 1st time in a decade, I don't have OU at the Top. What say you?

Obviously this list will change with experience

1. Snyder
2. Gundy
3. Patterson
4. Holgerson
5. Herman
6. Riley
7. Campbell
8. Ruhle
9. Kingbury
10. Beaty

Snyder by default at #1. Then Patterson, Gundy, Holgerson. Rest don't matter till January.

3 or 4 years ago, I would have agreed about Holgerson. Every year that passes makes me doubt that idea. I'm about to the point where he's eye-to-eye with Kingsbury.

Snyder has done magic at KSU but at this point I would put Gundy # 1 because OSU has had OSU in the mix almost yearly.

Herman and Riley have things to prove so Im not sure where I would put them in a pecking order.

However if Riley brings us fans a NC this year he shoots to the top just because Im bias.

Gundy is overrated. Did anybody hear Rick Neuheisels's evaluation of him on Sirius? Gundy benefits from easy scheduling and Boone's money rebuilt the program. OSU played Pitt but their other out of conference games were against terribly weak opponents. Check out their recent, awful schedules. He regularly loses bowl games to teams that aren't very good. And he is 2-9 vs OU Thank God.

Beaty is doing good things at Kansas. I would have him at #9 now. He will move up the list quickly. So will Ruhle at Baylor. I would have Snyder and Patterson at 1 and 2 respectively. I can't rate Herman and Riley yet.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion but some of your facts are incorrect. He is 7-4 in Bowl games which does not constitute regularly losing Bowl games.

In 12 seasons at OSU he has won at least 9 games 7 times with 5 double digit win seasons. He has a .675 winning pct and to accomplish that at OSU is pretty dang tremendous considering their past. They have never been this consistant over a period of time in their history that I can remember.

Gundy may be one arrogant prick but he is far from being overrated in my opinion.
