Passing spread vs running spread?

I think a run based spread offense with a dual threat at QB has been far more successful than any passing spread offenses when it comes to winning national championships. I will give the 2000 OU the exception, but they could run and their defense was extraordinary that year. The Florida teams under Meyer were running teams, the UT VY team was a running team and the Auburn and OSU teams were also run based teams. No legit passing spread team has ever played for much less won a title, with the exception of 2000 OU. Why did OU go back to the Leach Air Raid? I think it was losing to both Baylor and TCU and not recruiting as well as hoped for. The only Big 12 team that has won with a run based spread is Texas and that is what they have returned to since Strong has ordered Watson to drop the WC offense and try and mimic Ohio State. Notre Dame also runs a spread, as does Oregon, but neither has won yet. The run heavy spread with great defense, especially versus the run have won titles.
