It's very premature to speculate on how good OU's recruiting will be next year and so much can happen. But consider how things are panning out right now and take it with a grain of salt.....
The Sooners have 6 commitments as of February 24th. A year ago at this time, OU had one in linebacker Terry, with WR Hardy committing in March.
All 6 are rated 4-star prospects.
4 hail from Texas.
1 hails from Florida.
1 hails from Oklahoma and is said to be the state's best player (linebacker Levi Draper).
Based upon early returns, I believe Stoops and his staff will stay closer to home for the next recruiting haul, with cherry-picking nationally becoming the exception rather than the norm once again. Of course, a lot of recruiting prowess has to be generated by beating Texas and the other Texas teams regularly.
