OU vs Kansas

20-6 with 9:44 in 1st.

You can almost see the confidence fading on these shots.

Found a little life with defense and attacking the rim but now have an uphill battle to erase a double digit lead.

Cousins putting them on his back to keep them in the fight.

They've shown they're not gonna roll over.

32-23 KU under 4 timeout.

A huge 3 from Christian James cuts the lead to 5 at the half. Hield again with 6 in the 1st, all from the FT line.

Sooners storm out of the gates and take the lead!!!

Cousins and Buddy (finally) with a 3 each and a big block by Lattin.

Damn.

Gut wrenching loss.

Again we made the mistakes near the end that cost us.

Glad these guys fought back after the tough start but this one stings.

I don't think we'll ever see OU win a conference championship in basketball.

Don't sell Kruger short just yet.

Sooners aren't going anywhere. With Woodard returning, Buford and James getting better and higher ranked recruits coming in, we're gonna be good again. But we're still in the midst of a fantastic season and after having struggled lately, we started to come alive again today. Just another tight loss to a good team.

Big things are still possible.

Bottom line is that Kansas is a better team than us. They're 2-0 against us at home and at their house. We have a really good team. Future is bright but our reality isn't looking Big 12 champ worthy.

Live by the 3, die by the 3. Like our defensive effort, though.

We have little to no game offensively inside the arc and we don't drive enough to the basket. Our points come from FT's and from the space between the FT line and the 3 point arc or beyond.

Blanket Buddy when the others aren't contributing inside or out and we fold. Buddy has been reduced in recent 1st half's with taking out-of-rhythm, off-balance shots. We're inept at setting picks for him. That's as bad a 1st half as we could conceive.

Looking like we won't go far in March.

The team has to figure out how to play in a rhythm with Buddy getting smothered and/or doubled all game, as he has been the past handful of games. But the biggest need is our lack of scoring, and depth, from the paint...still. Was interesting to see Nease playing, I think ahead of Buford. James getting some good PT too.

I think Plaino mentioned it too, but it does appeR Coach Kruger is using this time to build the depth, rest the starters a bit, while getting them ready to peak for the Big Dance. I'm hoping so.

Joe Lunardi still has OU as a 1 seed, but no longer the 1 overall seed.

1 East - Villanova
1 Midwest - Kansas
1 West - Oklahoma
1 South- North Carolina
Kinda surprised he has OU still holding on to the number 1 seed since I believe they are now 8 - 4 in conference. Seems like they are maybe a bit tired and having a slight slump. Hopefully they can begin to pick it up again for the big 12 tourn.
